Thanks, Global Health Security Fund for having me facilitate the session on storytelling for the ‘Youth for Biosecurity 2024 Fellowship’. With the event-present danger of infectious disease outbreaks, storytelling via diverse platforms would help mobilize communities for action. Ultimately, “whoever tells the stories, writes history”.

Biosafety cabinets (BSCs) play a vital role in ensuring laboratory safety by controlling the spread of infectious substances. Proper training in BSC usage, aseptic procedures, and ergonomic design reduce infection risks for healthcare workers and the public. We were particularly interested in observations about the role of the private sector in stockpiling, including the discussion about how building sustainable demand can effectively drive sustained increases in production capacity.
