Happy to introduce a new addition to the FREITAG Yourself Stations: the medium-sized tote F742 JULIEN SY. The bag is now available for customization, including an additional pouch. The specialist in-store will then directly handle the finishing stitches and touches as they sew the bag parts together. The small shopper F740 SONNY SY and classic F741 MIAMI VICE SY, both with inner pouches, remain available. Visit one of the Yourself Stations in Munich, Shanghai, Bangkok Silom, Kyoto, or Zurich Grüngasse to personalize a bag. If that's too far, enjoy the convenience of customizing a semi-finished product via video call at the latter three locations. FREITAG
Einzelhandel: Bekleidung und Mode
We believe in the next life of things. That's why we think and act in cycles. And cycle.
Info
We think and act in cycles.

«Freitag has become something of a sensation for its innovative (and often unexpected) use of recyclable materials.» Thank you, Fast Company, for the article about the new, one-of-a-kind bags made out of real, accident-free airbags. FREITAG opened its first store ever in Davos in 1999. Its last renovation happened in 2014, so it was about time for another refit. The space's look and feel changed drastically while respecting the building's wooden structure and avoiding unsuitable elements or materials. With 1560 meters above sea level, Davos is the highest city in Switzerland. Its winters are long and cold, so exchanging the electric heating system with a geothermal heat pump made sense. It was important for FREITAG to work with a local site manager and hire only constructors from the area. The aim was to renovate with the lowest possible CO2 emissions. Also worth mentioning is the use of intelligent and long-lasting materials such as our Swiss-made F-Rack shelving system, German-made (98% bio-based and 100% recyclable) linoleum floor from Gerflor, or the energy-efficient Tecton LED lighting system from Zumtobel. Exciting news: introducing the latest bags, the F700 ARROW and F708 FIREBIRD shoppers. Crafted from used, accident-free airbags and discarded tension belts, these shoppers are lightweight, robust, and uniquely colorful, each piece a one-of-a-kind creation. FREITAG believes in giving new life to materials that have served their original purpose. Once installed in vehicles but fortunately unused, they were transformed into versatile pieces by repurposing airbags. The tension belts, which have softened through extensive use on European truck routes, now serve as durable handles. The design approach encapsulated in the «bag follows form» principle ensures that every bag is as distinctive as the individual who carries it. The varied shapes, pastel colors, and unique imprints of the airbags, combined with brightly colored tension belts, make each shopper a unique piece, reflecting your individuality and uniqueness. After more than three years of project time involving countless rounds of development, prolonged tests, and complex procurement processes, the first Mono[PA6] Backpack was created. Particular attention is paid to the in-store display. Designed by FREITAG, the aluminum unit features a Moirée effect panel that presents information in a way that feels as special as the product itself. This condensed and clean presentation generates a different kind of attention. The building where FREITAG has its headquarters is full of surprises. A rather enjoyable one was the «Setzlingsmarkt» – a market where you could buy seedlings, put together by our neighbor Aroma. Everybody could get a head start on the summer with a little green companion to raise along the way. Find out more about the headquarters building: https://lnkd.in/d__7kz-E

Ever wondered how FREITAG washes their truck tarps? Well, the answer might be surprising. With 3 Industrial washing machines to get all those dirty tarps to a workable state. But they don't just use regular water. The FREITAG factory building works as a sort of giant funnel that catches the rain and collects it in the giant rainwater. It holds up to 350,000 liters and directly connects to our washing department through a 50-meter pipe. So there are no rainy days at FREITAG. Want to find out more about our production process? Thinking and acting in cycles is integral to the DNA of FREITAG. The company's vision is to design bags and accessories that are no longer simply made from used materials but also circular. After three years of development, the time has come, and FREITAG has launched its first circular backpack. The Mono[PA6] Backpack is not only functional, durable, and water-repellent but also fully recyclable at the end of its life, and thus circular. To make the recycling process as simple and resource-saving as possible, FREITAG has opted for the mono-materiality principle in its latest development. Polyamide 6, PA6 for short, better known as nylon, is the material of choice: versatile, robust, and particularly easy to recycle. Whether it is the cords, zippers, buckles, or outer fabrics – every single component in the backpack is made from the same material. A single material. A lot of cycles. FREITAG just released the Mono[PA6] Backpack – its first circular bag made of a mono-material and repeatably recyclable. From the fabric to the zippers and buckles, the new Mono[PA6] Backpack is a milestone on the path to a circular future. Made from a single material, polyamide 6, the backpack can be recycled without requiring complex dismantling. They return to Zurich via the FREITAG take-back service and, from there, the backpack gets recycled in its entirety at the end of its life. By launching this circular product, FREITAG is not just closing a material loop but taking a significant step towards the vision of a circular economy.
