We are taking action to support smoke-free cooking! 🍳 1/3 of the world's population still cooks on open fires or with inefficient stoves. The consequences are devastating: 3.2 million people die prematurely from the smoke emitted by these fires (WHO) - that's more than the deaths from HIV, malaria and tuberculosis combined. As part of our sustainability efforts, we want to contribute to the much-needed transition to clean, smoke-free cookstoves. Over the next three years, we will support the Smoke Free Village project of the Dutch NGO SNV in Cambodia and Nepal. The project encourages and enables people to switch to locally available clean cooking solutions through a comprehensive behavior change program and by connecting people to local distributors of clean (e.g. electric) cookstoves. The project has been scientifically monitored and proven to be highly effective in promoting the transition to clean cooking - for people's health and wellbeing, the climate and the environment.
