Which two countries took up 95% of Africa’s blockchain venture funding? We'll tell you below 👇 For those who guessed the Seychelles and South Africa, you are correct. In 2023, these two countries contributed 95% of all blockchain venture funding in Africa across 10 deals. Is this remarkable? Well, yes and no For the sixth year in a row, the Seychelles received the highest amount of blockchain venture funding, securing over half of all funds. This consistency highlights Seychelles' strategic positioning and favorable regulatory environment, making it a prime destination for blockchain investments However, the landscape shifted significantly compared to 2022, when Congo, Kenya, and Nigeria also secured notable portions of funding. In 2023, these countries did not make the same impact As we move through the first half of 2024, Nigeria has made a strong comeback, securing 37.6% of all blockchain venture funding. Conversely, South Africa has seen its share drop to 17.3%.
