Reducing styrene emissions with novel Atlac® 430E - AOC, BÜFA and Versteden have evaluated Atlac® 430E low styrene emission formulation in composites piping systems. We recently wrapped up a project for AOC Formulations’ Resins plant in Lakeland, FL, where we built and installed a 30-foot-tall by 18-foot-wide tank. We handled everything in-house, from fabrication in our shop to transportation and installation on-site. Haverhill Renovations and Environmental Certifications - After the acquisition of the Haverhill site in 2022, AOC is in the process of making major upgrades to the installations and process operations. 📰 Enabling CIRCULAR #COMPOSITES starts with waste codes.    🔷 Today, seven industry associations working on increasing the #circularity of composite materials have published a statement highlighting their valuable resource even at their end-of-life. 🔷 Our industries believe there is potential to develop a business case for sustainable end-of-life solutions for composites, starting with the #wind energy and #boating sectors. They are the obvious candidates to start building up a regulatory framework enabling sustainable end-of-life solutions for composite materials. But the current EU regulatory frameworks on waste are not sufficient to enable the deployment and commercialisation of the sustainable waste treatment solutions for end-of-life composite materials. Our #associations are looking forward to engaging with the legislator to define the right regulatory framework, starting with the introduction of waste codes for end-of-life composite materials.   🔷 We call on the EU institutions to amend Europe’s waste policy in six ways so that we can achieve greater circularity in composite materials from decommissioned wind turbine blades and nacelles, and decommissioned boats. The AOC Haverhill site has achieved ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (Safety and Environmental) accreditations, demonstrating AOC's commitment to its people and to sustainability. Since the acquisition by AOC in 2022, the company has been making major investments in the Haverhill plant. Today, stakeholders from the recreational boating industry joined the EU dialogue on end-of-life recreational craft event, co-organised by the European Commission DG MARE, Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024, and EBI. We extend our gratitude to them for their collaboration. Minister Georges Gilkinet, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility, reaffirmed Belgium's commitment to finding sustainable solutions, Delilah Al Khudhairy, Director for Maritime Policy and Blue Economy DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, followed up praising the work of the stakeholder group created by the European Commission and Robert Marx, President of EBI, insisted on the importance of circularity to push the industry forward.
