𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐮 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐧 – 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞   We would like to inform you that Alu Menziken Extrusion AG, with approximately 700 employees and four locations in Switzerland, Austria, and Romania, will become part of Mengtai Germany GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mengtai Group Co., Ltd., China. This globally active company focuses on energy production and aluminum and also includes the German apt Group. An agreement was signed between Mengtai Germany GmbH and our owner, Montana Aerospace AG.   The acquisition is still subject to regulatory approvals. The formal closing will be prepared in the coming months and is expected to take place in 2024.   This integration is another important milestone in our success story and opens up great new synergies for us. Together with the apt Group, headquartered in Monheim, and under the umbrella of the Mengtai Group, we can combine our competencies and resources to serve our customers even better and continue to grow.   Bo Ao, Vice Chairman of the Mengtai Group, says: "With this acquisition, we underline our commitment to being the best partner for our customers and to offering them comprehensive added value in all market segments – from raw materials to complex product applications."   Markus Adams, CEO of Alu Menziken, comments: "The acquisition of Alu Menziken by the Mengtai Group is a perfect add-on to the apt Group activities, their existing aluminum business in Europe, and will allow further strategic growth as part of a strong international company.”   Alu Menziken will continue to exist as a company under the umbrella of the Mengtai Group. The Future of Urban Mobility: The EDAG Cargo Bike – 100% Made in the EU! 🚴♂️ Is it possible to build a bicycle entirely within Europe? While many bikes are designed in the EU, manufacturing often takes place in the Far East due to lower production costs. However, this comes at a price—interrupted supply chains, higher CO2 footprints, and sometimes, compromised quality. At EDAG Group and Alu Menziken, we believed there had to be a better way. That’s why we joined forces to create a revolutionary cargo bike that is 100% designed, sourced, and produced in Europe. Our mission was clear: build a highly flexible, eco-friendly cargo bike that meets the needs of today’s urban users while significantly reducing its carbon footprint. In just six months, we optimized the design of the aluminum frame, utilizing extruded profiles that can be fully automated in production. Every component, from the motor to the brake system, is sourced within Europe, ensuring the highest quality and sustainability standards. 🌱 The EDAG Cargo Bike stands out for its versatility—shortening by 50 cm for easier parking or nimble riding without a container. The motor, developed by EDAG, avoids the use of rare earth elements, keeping the entire production chain within Europe. Plus, the German-engineered brake system is specifically designed for cargo bikes. Looking ahead, we’re excited to unveil the next step—a highly flexible container module that adds even more functionality to this innovative bike. It wasn't just about care; it was a full-fledged summer adventure filled with creativity and excitement. Here are some highlights: - Theater workshops and didgeridoo classes that sparked creativity and new talents. - An exciting factory tour at Doppler, giving our young guests a behind-the-scenes look. - Body percussion sessions that set the rhythm for fun. - Bouncing on the bouncy castle and cooling off with water fun at the playground. - An emotions workshop that helped understand and express feelings. - Baking cakes and cookies – and, of course, enjoying them! 👫 New friendships were formed, sure to last beyond the holidays. 🔩 Step-by-Step to High-Quality Extruded Products at Alu Menziken 🔩 At Alu Menziken, we pride ourselves on producing high-quality aluminum profiles using our state-of-the-art extrusion process. Here’s a glimpse into our meticulous production steps: State-of-the-Art Presses: We have five extrusion presses with a pressing force ranging from 11 to 60 MN. All presses operate using the direct extrusion method, and one press is specifically equipped for producing seamless tubes. Starting Material: Each profile begins with an aluminum billet. The billet is heated to approximately 500°C at the press and then pushed through a die to achieve the desired geometry. Profile Formation: The extruded profile, which can be up to 63 meters long, is cooled, stretched, and cut at the press to a manageable length of approximately 6 meters. Heat Treatment: The profile undergoes a heat treatment in special furnaces at around 180°C to attain the required strength. Quality Assurance: Comprehensive quality checks ensure the flawless quality of our products. Customization: Upon request, we offer extensive possibilities for further processing of the profiles, including mechanical processing, surface finishing, and the production of ready-to-install components. Our profiles are used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, railway, pneumatics, construction, and general industry.
