We extend our heartfelt congratulations!❤️  Over the past few years, all have shown outstanding commitment and effort throughout their training with us. Their diligence, willingness to learn, and teamwork have made them valuable members of Alpiq. 💪📚  We are happy, that some of them continue their professional careers at Alpiq and will continue to enrich us with their fresh perspectives and acquired knowledge. ☀ Die Entwicklung im Bereich der Energieproduktion aus Photovoltaik ist erfreulich. Gleichzeitig steigt der Bedarf nach Lösungen im Bereich Flexibilität, einem Treiber der Energiewende. ⚡ Alpiq fokussiert daher auf diese Integration von Photovoltaik-Strom ins Energiesystem verkauft ihre sieben Aufdach-Photovoltaik-Anlagen in der Schweiz mit einer Gesamtleistung von 5,5 MWp als Paket an PS Panneaux Solaires SA. 🔋 Um die Versorgungsicherheit zu stärken und die Energiewende voranzutreiben, setzt Alpiq ezielt auf Flexibilitätslösungen zur Integration der erneuerbaren Energien sowie auf den Ausbau von Speichern und die Produktion von Winterstrom. ✅ Alpiq bekräftigt zudem ihr Engagement zum Bau alpiner PV-Anlagen. 〽🔋 Flexible power plants and battery storage systems are crucial to the success of the energy transition and to ensuring security of supply. They ensure that supply and demand are balanced at all times and that the grid frequency and voltage levels of the electricity grid remain constant. ✅ 🛠⚙ Over the past months, Alpiq has completely overhauled the Vercelli gas-fired power plant in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, making it fit for the energy future. Thanks to its flexibility, it can provide valuable services for electrical system adequacy and for security of supply in Italy. 👍 📈⚡ The plant has been completely overhauled and the main components (turbine, generator) replaced. The work resulted in significant improvements: the plant's flexibility, output and efficiency has been increased. 🎇 We're excited to announce another strong commitment to paving the path of the #energytransition: Alpiq acquires a 30 MW large-scale battery from Merus Power and therefore expands its flexibility portfolio. The battery energy storage system (BESS) in Valkeakoski will become operational in mid-2025. 🔋 The battery energy storage system is primarily used to stabilise the grid. It therefore contributes directly to security of supply and it enables additional renewable energy projects. 🤝 This strategic investment strengthens Alpiq's position as a flexibility supplier and underlines its long-term commitment in the Nordic countries. ⚡ Das Ja zum Stromgesetz war das Thema des Roundtables des HSG MBA Sustainability Clubs gestern Abend in Zürich.⚡ Die Referenten aus den verschiedenen Bereichen, Martin Schwab (CEO CKW), Robert Radmilovic (Partner, Wüest Partner), Vasco Wüst (Project lead Energy & Environment, Gemeinde Richterswil) und Michael Plaschy (Leiter Hydro Power Alpiq) unterstützten alle das dringend nötige ➡ JA zum #Stromgesetz am 9. Juni ⬅.   Michael Plaschy bekräftigte dabei den grossen Willen von Alpiq, durch den Zubau wertvoller Projekte einen Beitrag zur Stärkung der Stromversorgungssicherheit der Schweiz zu leisten 💪 . Dabei stehen die Projekte des Runden Tischs Wasserkraft im Zentrum. Beispielhaft dafür nannte er den geplanten Bau des Mehrzweckspeichers «Gornerli» bei Zermatt. Dieser würde rund 650 GWh zusätzlichen Winterstrom bringen. Doch dafür braucht es am ➡ 9. Juni ein JA zum #Stromgesetz ⬅.

Great experience for me and Maurice Dierick representing Alpiq at the Innovationsforum Energie 2024 LHI Lighthouse Institute AG at the session “Herausforserungen und neue Impulse einer vernetzen Energielandschaft”. Flexibility is one of the core competencies for Alpiq, and with our participation we had the opportunity to share our view with respect to flexible technologies, in particular with focus on medium duration energy storage (MDES) solutions, with discharge duration between 4 h and 1 week. We acknowledge the need for MDES technologies to be boosted in the coming years to effectively progress with the decarbonisation of the energy system while strengthening the security of supply🔋.

🤝 Die 9. Ausgabe des The Spirit of Bern befasste sich heute mit dem Thema «Energiezukunft Schweiz». Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik prägten eine hochkarätige Konferenz zu einem sehr aktuellen Thema: die Schweizer Energiezukunft, ihre politischen Rahmenbedingungen und die Auswirkungen auf die Bürgerinnen und Bürger.   🏔 In seinem Eröffnungsreferat stellte Michael Hermann von Sotomo die drei Schweizer Energiewende-Hürden vor: Bodenknappheit, Landschaftsliebe und Basisdemokratie.   🔈 Auf dem darauffolgenden Polit-Podium diskutierte unsere CEO Antje Kanngiesser mit Aline Trede (Fraktionschefin Grüne, Nationalrätin Kanton Bern), Thierry Burkart (Präsident FDP.Die Liberalen, Ständerat Kanton Aargau) und Marcel Ottenkamp (stellvertretender CEO Energie Wasser Bern ewb) die Ziele und Herausforderungen für die Schweizer Energieversorgung. ▶ ❗ Dass das #Stromgesetz, über welches wir am 9. Juni abstimmen, ein unerlässlicher Schritt in die Energiezukunft ist, darüber waren sich alle einig. Für Alpiq stehen dabei insbesondere die Projekte des runden Tisches im Fokus. Doch auch marktnahe Lösungen und eine Entbürokratisierung sind nötig, um dem Generationenprojekt «Umbau Energiesystem» näher zu kommen.   ⚡ Im zweiten Teil lag der Fokus auf den Auswirkungen auf Bürgerinnen und Bürger. In seinem Schlussreferat strich Bundesrat Albert Rösti hervor, dass wir das Risiko einer Strommangellage auch nach der Abstimmung über das #Stromgesetz nicht aus den Augen verlieren dürfen: "Es braucht einen langen Atem, damit wir gemeinsam eine sichere Energieversorgung für unser Land bereitstellen können." #StromgesetzJA #tsob24 #spiritofbern
