🎉 We are proud to share that, out of 371 projects, a team of our undergraduate students placed in the top 8 at University of California, Berkeley’s AI Hackathon with "Skyline"! Using demographic data and machine learning, they created a project that simulates cities to optimize transit infrastructure. The University of Waterloo hosted the inaugural Ontario Graduate Mathematics Conference (OGMC) from June 7-9! 🎉 With over 120 graduate students in attendance, including participants from beyond the Waterloo Region, the event was a resounding success! The conference showcased a range of topics, from applied mathematics and combinatorics to computer science, pure mathematics, and statistics. Highlights included insightful student talks, an EDI workshop, and vibrant networking opportunities. Last week, the CEMC hosted the Summer Conferences for Mathematics and Computer Studies Educators, and it was a truly spectacular event.
