I've been building online businesses since 1999, and I'm living the immigrant dream.

I was semi-retired when I helped co-found Examine. We're an evidence-based research organization taking down myths and skullduggery in the world of health, nutrition, and supplements. We're making a difference to the millions who visit us every month.

In 2014 I was recognized as a Game Changer by Men's Fitness (along with people such as Stephen Colbert, Pharrell, Stephen Curry, and more) and was profiled on Forbes.com in 2015. Examine.com was subsequently noted as a Top 10 innovative company in Health & Fitness by FastCompany.

I'm generally more behind the scenes, and my co-founder, Kamal Patel, is the face of Examine.

I talk about entrepreneurship at SJO.com but I do NO consulting or coaching, and I offer NO courses. I do it as an outlet and, similar to Examine.com, with hopes of cutting through all the crud out there.

I'm a big believer in giving back to the community — money, time, and expertise.

I created a series of charity Food Offs, and we raised over $400,000 for local non-profits.

In 2021 when the Afghanistan crisis hit, we raised over $275,000 to help provide support to Afghan refugees.

I also host private dinners in Toronto (and other cities when traveling) for successful entrepreneurs to facilitate and foster a sense of community and shared excellence.

I do not add anyone I have not conversed with before. I am not interested in "networking" for the sake of it; I'm far more interested in building relationships and having interesting conversations. You can easily say hi to me here or via twitter/FB.
