About
Riaz is President and CEO of TD Securities, responsible for overseeing the global capital markets and corporate and investment banking areas, focused on providing advice and services to corporate, government and institutional clients. Prior to this Riaz was the Group Head and Chief Financial Officer of TD Bank Group, responsible for Enterprise Strategy, Finance, Chief Accountant's department, Strategic Sourcing, Enterprise Real Estate, Treasury and Balance Sheet Management, Corporate Development and TD's Corporate Transformation Program and Strategy.
A passionate promoter of inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, Riaz chaired TD's Inclusion and Diversity Leadership Council between 2015 and 2018. He also co-chaired TD’s United Way fundraising campaigns in 2013 and 2014. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Aga Khan Museum and is Chairman of Aga Khan Foundation Canada, National Committee.
Riaz grew up in Tanzania and later moved to Canada. He lives in Toronto with his wife and they have two grown children.

Continuing our coverage of this morning’s panel on how to retain young talent in today’s working reality, panellists discussed the shifting expectations and demands of younger generations entering the finance industry. Alexander Malitsky, CFA, Director DCM Origination at TD Securities, highlighted that new generations in financial services want to be heard and create impact within the first few years of their careers. In addition to this, young people are demanding more flexibility to work when and where they want to, leading to lower retention rates as young professionals leave the industry to find jobs that better suit their personal lives. Often the only thing keeping young people in finance jobs can be compensation.
