About

I am an enthusiastic policy professional, with extensive experience in government, university and industry settings. My main policy focus throughout my career has largely been post-secondary education, especially in areas including research and innovation, international education, student financial assistance and more.

I am currently the Manager of Public Policy and Stakeholder Relations at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, the largest business organization in western Canada. Our team supports GVBOT members through policy and advocacy work with all levels of government.

I was formerly a Government Relations Officer at UBC, one of Canada's best universities and located at the beautiful Point Grey campus in the Vancouver area. In this role, I engaged with the provincial and federal government, communicating UBC's strengths in research and teaching and identifying common priorities.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Philosophy (double major) from Acadia University in Nova Scotia and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Queen's University.

Please connect with me on Twitter- I love sharing ideas and experiences and learning from others! I can be found at @lindsaydoucet (https://twitter.com/lindsaydoucet).

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking plant based foods, taking care of my two guinea pigs and skiing.
