What do you do if your career is on hold due to a layoff?
I've always been a fan of being proactive vs. reactive about your career. There are usually signs that things are not going well for your company, team or with management. Make sure you are aware of the signs and have the courage to leave before things get worse. ALWAYS have your resume up to date. ALWAYS be networking. ALWAYS promote yourself in positive ways and ALWAYS look to help your customers, colleagues and company. Starting the above after your laid off will be much harder, especially these days!
