Vivacity Technologies is pleased to announce our updated logo and theme for VivaCitadel! We’ve been working hard on refining VivaCitadel’s visuals to represent a modern, professional, and clean platform that’s inspired by our iconic classic logo and palette. At the start of the design process, the team assessed VivaCitadel’s brand identity and how we wanted it to resonate with both people familiar with and new to the platform. Through many iterations, we experimented with ways to tie the modern, professional themes to its bright, dynamic roots. We addressed lots of questions about how and where the designs were used, who would see them, and which aspects of our classic logo that made it shine. It was a lot of fun exploring the different paths VivaCitadel could take, but hard to choose a final candidate! We settled on a design that was familiar and loyal to its predecessor, finding some new complementary colours and theme graphics to push it in new directions at the same time. Thank you to our star designers Jackie Gorman and Kobe Shimoyama for leading this project and getting the whole team excited about choosing VivaCitadel’s new look. We’re excited to show off some updated materials in the near future!

In our latest teambuilding outing, Vivacity Technologies attended a mindful meditation session at Thompson Rivers University ! The team met with our instructor in the House of Learning and we were taught about the process of sensing, acknowledging, and accepting our circumstances to achieve a mindful state. It was quite refreshing to take time from our busy days to relax and give our brains a reboot. To top off the session, we shared some delicious Indian takeout and exchanged stories at the table. We had a blast catching up at TRU and sharing this new experience. We’re excited to get together again for our next teambuilding trip!

This week, the VivaTeam was off to Whistler for the 2024 Municipal Information Systems Association British Columbia (MISA BC) Annual Fall conference. This conference is a great way to connect with municipal IT leaders from across the province and learn about all of the unique experiences and innovations happening in the space. The Vivacity Technologies team had a great time exploring Whistler, and connecting with other conference attendees. We were glad to see an even mix of familiar and new faces! The team was fortunate to be able to attend a number of insightful talks about how municipalities are solving problems and innovating new solutions to their unique challenges! We had a wonderful time at our booth visiting with attendees, chatting through some of their experiences and challenges, and giving away some pretty sweet custom Vivacity cookies (shout out to Jackie Gorman and Jaime Sedore of jack and jaim cookie co for the beautiful and delicious cookies!). We were thrilled to demo our software platform VivaCitadel to a number of attendees, and talk through the work we’ve been doing with the City of Kelowna to bring our platform to life. We also had the opportunity to present on this work, and our research around the municipal property record space, with Graham March from the City of Kelowna, and share some insights into our process and what we learned along the way. It was a great time, and we are grateful for everyone who stopped by to connect with us and learn a bit more about Vivacity and VivaCitadel! We would like to extend a thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, took time to engage with the team, and attended our presentation. You all are the reason we come back to MISA every year! We would also like to thank the event team over at MISA who put on a fantastic conference every year. There is a massive amount of effort and planning that goes into the event, and they knock it out of the park every year! We’ll see you at MISA next year!

We recently kicked off session 2 of the VivaCitadel Design Partner Program with four insightful municipalities: City of Kamloops, City of Kelowna, City of Campbell River, and City of Prince George! Everyone was pleased to meet Prince George for their first live session in the program and we had great conversations about the state and future of municipal data management. We also shared our latest research on property information services that addressed two questions with interesting results: - Do property listings drive demand for property information? - How effectively are municipalities capturing this demand? The Vivacity Technologies team is thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with these innovative cities and we look forward to seeing everyone for our next session!

Many of you may not know, but today is a very special day for Vivacity Technologies. Today marks our third anniversary as a company! 🎉 🎉🎉Today marks 3 years of organized chaos and exploring the unknown to find our place. This is such a major milestone for the VivaTeam, and we are so proud of all the work we have put in to get us here! Many of you will know that the majority of start-ups fail. We know we aren’t out of the woods yet when it comes to the statistics, but those statistics are just numbers. What we as a team have built is so much more. I want to take a moment to acknowledge all of the people behind the hard work and dedication that has brought us to 3 years. We would not be here if it was not for the absolute dedication, passion, and unbelievably hard work of our Founder and CEO George Emery. He lives and breathes this company, and no one could have gotten us here but him. This company would not exist without him, and none of us would be here if he didn’t believe in us and the vision we could create together. He is Vivacity. We also have our amazing Engineering Team: Stefano Stamato, Jaime Sedore, Alex Kofman, Rhythm C., and Jackie Gorman. Some of the best and brightest among us, they can pull a platform out of thin air and develop something truly amazing. They have helped build the bedrocks of this company and are the reason VivaCitadel exists. There is no one better. Finally, we have the Business Team: George Emery, Dr Premie Naicker (PhD), Sarah Zeidel, Sheikh Farzin Rahman, Cassandra Roberge, and Kobe Shimoyama. The client facing side of our company, these are the people you will see running our consulting projects and taking care of our vCIO clients day in and day out. Never a shortage of challenges, but the team is always ready to step up to the plate and deliver something amazing. Always hard working and dedicated to our clients, these are the people you always want in your corner. Then there’s you. Everyone who has supported us along the way, been a cheerleader, a champion, a mentor, a client, or just a friend. We also would not be here without you. Thank you for always being in our corner. Here’s to more years to come! And here’s to us.

The Vivacity Technologies consulting team is about half way through our Facilities Technology Assessment with the City of Kelowna. We asked the project team for their thoughts on the project so far. It has been a valuable project for the team, allowing them to further strengthen relationships with the city while providing insights and value to the Facilities Department. Working with the team over at Kelowna’s Facilities Department, and engaging with various vendors and other municipalities, our team is gaining unique insights into facilities management. This project has given us the opportunity to delve into new and engaging challenges to work towards the best custom solution for the City. With each new project we undertake, the knowledge of our team grows, and we work to further refine our processes to provide the best possible result to our clients. Overall, the project is progressing smoothly, and the team is enjoying overcoming challenges and gaining new knowledge through this project. As always, we are grateful to the City of Kelowna for being a wonderful partner through this project, and for putting their trust in the VivaTeam to get their Facilities portfolio to where they want it to be.
