VARD has secured a new contract for the design and construction of one stern trawler for the Norwegian owner Havbryn AS. This modern vessel is loaded with technology and digital solutions to be able to catch sustainable seafood using green solutions. Several optimizations in the propulsion system is combined through the SeaQ Microgrid that results in lower fuel consumption and more redundancy. A new milestone was achieved this week. A successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of SeaQ Integrated Bridge has been conducted with representatives from FINCANTIERI and TUI Cruises. This test marks the final step before the system is dispatched to Monfalcone Shipyard and prepared for installation on TUI Cruises' new flagship Mein Schiff Relax. Ocean Charger paves the way for sustainable business at sea. ⚡ Since officially launched in February 2023, the prototyping phase of the Ocean Charger project is now finalized. Charging tests have been conducted in port as well as testing of the offshore connection solution.
