This weekend the Ottawa Fertility Centre celebrated an incredible 30 years of helping to grow families from across the National Capital and eastern Ontario regions! The clinic team was honoured to see all the wonderful families, including "babies" born from 1994 to 2024, community leaders and Mayor Mark Sutcliffe who joined the anniversary celebration. Led by a team of 8 experienced fertility specialists, the Ottawa Fertility Centre has a track record of well over 10,000 successful births with amongst the highest patient ratings in Canada for delivering excellent patient experiences. The practice has been part of the fabric of the Ottawa medical community since 1994 providing a complete range of fertility assessments and advanced treatments including IVF and egg freezing – all entirely on-site, from their full-service fertility centre based in central Ottawa.   Congratulations medical director Dr. Doron Shmorgun and team (thank-you Dr. Jenna Gale who MC'd the celebration). Special thanks to Stu Schwartz for sharing this wonderful recap video of the event.

This past Sunday, Canadian partner clinics across the TFP network, coast-to-coast, sponsored and participated in the 4th annual 6K run/walk hosted by Fertility Matters Canada, an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for fertility advocacy. This cause is incredibly important to us, and we’re committed to making a meaningful impact. We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing network and teams who came together to support this important cause. To date, over $137,854 has been raised in support of FMC's access and advocacy programs, ensuring more equitable access to fertility services for all Canadians. Can we get 5000 signatures?! 📢 Join us in this important cause by signing our petition to bring the issue of fertility care to the attention of the Government of Canada. Together, we can pressure the government to prioritize this issue and take necessary steps to ensure affordable and accessible fertility care for all Canadians. This petition serves to advocate for the affordability and universality of access to fertility care across Canada. We believe that every Canadian deserves equal access to fertility treatments, regardless of their geographical location within the country. Once our petition is presented in the House of Commons, the Government of Canada is obligated to provide an official response. By signing, you are helping us emphasize the importance of this matter and urging the government to take action. Our goal is to have over 5000 signatures. Please sign and share with your network. Let’s make a difference and work towards a future where affordable and universal fertility care is available to everyone across Canada. Sign the petition today! https://lnkd.in/g5eGpKrN

The results of our NICEST trial are published in F&S! Noninvasive PGT-A is a promising approach for aneuploidy screening of blastocysts - but let’s make sure we don’t let our exuberance get the better of us this time! Emulating the paradigm of the “non-selection” study, we transferred embryos blinded to the niPGT-A results to challenge the risks of false positive results. Prior niPGT-A studies have only reported outcomes of “normal” embryos, or just indexed to TE biopsy results. Significant Findings: -Whole chromosome copy number variations (CNVs) showed a predictive positive value (PPV) of 94% and RR of 2.2 for embryo non-viability. -Limiting analysis to uniform CNVs, while excluding intermediate ones, yielded a PPV of 100%. -Other CNVs of uncertain reproductive significance did not consistently predict non-viability. -Failed QC (7.5%) was too frequent. We need to improve our techniques. Key Message: It is encouraging that with relatively “off the shelf” methods, a high false positive risk with niPGT-A was not apparent when whole chromosome abnormalities were reported. However, not all “abnormal” CNV’s were indicative of non-viability. A more nuanced approach is needed in interpreting these results. Our study is an important step, but further research is essential: -Refining methods to decrease QC failures and enhance result interpretation. -Expanding research to larger and more diverse populations to validate these findings. Stay tuned for NICEST-2… Thanks to my amazing Co-Investigators Catherine Welch Sophia Tormasi Sally Rodriguez Olive Fertility Centre SEQUENCE46, LLC The Fertility Partners Thermo Fisher Scientific

Congratulations to Jaume Minano Masip, Eva Kadoch, Robert Hemmings, Simon Phillips, François Bissonnette, and Jacques Kadoch for their contribution to the field of reproductive medicine! 📚Their work represents a significant advance in the field of intrauterine insemination. ✨This study is the first to use follitropin delta in intrauterine insemination. It also provides important validation of an original, personalized algorithm based on anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels and patient weight. 💡This study opens new perspectives in the field of assisted fertility and highlights the critical importance of tailoring treatments to individual patient characteristics. 👏 #cliniqueovo #fertilité #fertility #research #insemination #PMA #RnD
