Root causes of the gender gap of self-care have to be rectified. We need to address gender pay gaps, gendered poverty, gender-based violence, and more – the things that amount to gender inequality and block women, girls, and gender-diverse people from adequate self-care and health and wellness. Tomorrow is International Day of Self-Care. Pursuing self-care can be useful for an individual’s wellbeing. But it has gendered complications. 🕜 Caring for yourself takes time. 💲 Caring for yourself takes money. 🧠 Caring for yourself takes mental health support access. 💞 Caring for yourself takes resources and the care of others. 🏠 Caring for yourself takes safety to pursue that care. What can you do right now to close this gender gap in your own life and for others?

Nonbinary people face discrimination on a daily basis, particularly nonbinary people who are Black, racialized, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or living with a disability. The movement for gender equality includes justice, safety, rights, and care for nonbinary people and all 2SLGBTQIA people. Do you know what each colour of the nonbinary flag represents? • Yellow: people whose gender exists beyond the binary model • White: people who identify with a multitude of genders • Lavender: people who identify their gender as in-between or a mix of the binary • Black: people who identify with no gender #NonBinaryDay #NonBinaryPride💛🤍💜🖤

The Canadian Women's Foundation reposted this
Gender Equality: Here’s The Reality: Six in 10 women say they sometimes find it difficult to picture themselves as leaders. It did take me a while to break the glass ceiling and reach a leadership position, and it is a constant struggle to prove your worth. I am proud to be an ally of the Canadian Women's Foundation through my job at Rickis. Ricki's has enjoyed a relationship with the The Canadian Women's Foundation for over 15 years. In those 15 years we have been able to donate over 1.9 million dollars. Last year alone through the hard work of our field teams we were able to donate $100,000.
