Tomorrow is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As many of us take the day with pay, I want to share a few resources, reading, and people for you to use this time to consider engaging, explore, listen, and act with your purchasing power. 1. Consider actively engaging in discussions, listening, and walking to dig deeper on truth and reconciliation: - Engage Ta7talíya Nahanee on Indigenous Inclusion. Ta7talíya has created accessible, actionable and impactful conversations and courses to equip each of us to go that next level deeper in our critical allyship and decolonizing practises. 2. Consider supporting Indigenous Business: - Alissa Assu is the co-Founder of RAVENSONG, and the founder and owner of West Coast Wildflowers and Bear Essential Oils She has a special offer for this day https://lnkd.in/gFFjEmx3 - Jenn Harper is the award winning founder of Cheekbone Beauty Cosmetics INC and is a shining example of an Indigenous owned and led consumer products company https://lnkd.in/grcATv8Q 3. Follow the future of Indigenous leaders in Technology: - Ryan St. Germaine ♾️ and the community who are leading Indigenous Tech Circle are creating a movement at the intersection of our Indigenous community and technology based innovation, with the help and wisdom of leaders like Joshua Nilson, Jeff Ward, Lawrence Lewis and many more. 4. Consider following Indigenous leaders changing the discourse in their respective communities and leadership: Bobbie Racette Jeffrey Cyr Althea Wishloff Paul Lacerte Sage Lacerte Nicole McLaren Benjamin Scott, MBA Richard Tuck Theresa Ward Denise Williams #truthandreconciliation #indigenousimpact #impactbusinesses #impactfounder #economicreconciliation

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time for learning and reflection on the genocidal history of Canada's residential school system. As we scroll through the many orange-coloured posts on our feed today, we’re reflecting on how we can show up for the Indigenous community beyond this one day. Here are some ways we can offer support and take meaningful action: Educate Yourself: Read books or watch documentaries by Indigenous authors and filmmakers. Some suggestions from the Spring team can be found in our recent blog here: https://hubs.ly/Q02Rnkxz0 Shop at Indigenous-Owned Businesses: Commit to supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs by purchasing from local Indigenous shops, artisans, and restaurants. Use platforms like Indigenous Tourism Canada to find businesses near you: https://hubs.ly/Q02Rn2Xf0 Use Your Platform: If you have a social media following or a platform at work, use it to raise awareness about Indigenous issues, share Indigenous voices, and promote events or initiatives that support Indigenous rights. #truthandreconciliation #nationaldayoftruthandreconciliation #IndigenousVoices #EverydayAllyship

Some of my favourite days at Spring are when my love of video production love of impact making are smushed together into a day filled with amazing humans. Huge thanks to Shannon Ward, Luan Tolosa and Shantanu Mehta for being part of our little experiment and Adam Zbitniff, Rylan Oleksyn, Art and Graham Farmer for all their work behind the lens. It was a fun day of collaboration between Genus Capital Management, Number 7 Studios and Spring that will hopefully culminate in a video that resonates with those wanting to make the world a better place through their investments. #impact #impactinvesting #investment
