The Sparks Street Business Improvement Area (BIA) is preparing for a boundary expansion. The recent focus on Downtown Revitalization has highlighted a significant portion of the downtown core as being underrepresented at the local level. The need for business support, local representation, advocacy and management of public realm is more important than ever. The BIA has a proven track record of creating positive change and advocating for its members. With a focus on business retention and expansion, economic development, destination development, public realm and programming, the BIA is well positioned to expand its area of influence beyond historic Sparks Street. This boundary expansion of the BIA will extend these essential services to the heart of the downtown core. Once approved, the BIA expansion will come into effect January, 2025. "Facilitated by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), the new Music x Business Development Fund aims to support the growth and innovation of Ottawa's music industry. Well, this deserves a toast... Both 'Stolen Goods Bar' and 'Jackalope' have earned a spot on the 'Best Bars in Ottawa' list! Jackalope (212 Sparks Street) is a hidden speakeasy, connected to the ground-level restaurant and bar, Rabbit Hole. It strikes a classy, exclusive vibe, with a curved marble bar that seats about eight guests. A few tables in the darkened surroundings offer even greater intimacy. Stolen Goods (106 Sparks Street), a 20-seat cocktail bar, is usually packed. This collaborative effort aims to transform the area into a dynamic arts hub, greatly benefiting our community and injecting new life into our downtown core. ~~~ Des nouvelles excitantes ! J'ai participé avec des dirigeants et des organismes communautaires passionnés à une réunion organisée par Sparks Street BIA & Mall Authority et Arts Network Ottawa / Réseau des arts d'Ottawa pour réimaginer l'espace vacant (anciens cinémas) au 300, rue Sparks.
