It's been an incredible past few days of conversations with colleagues and clients both new and familiar at the Reconnect SEAS (South East Asia Seminar) event, hosted by Stamicarbon in Hainan, China. Warren Chung, P.Eng. of Solex Thermal Science was joined by Zhang Houqing, Director of Chemequip New Material Ltd. at the three-day event as they showcased the applications of both plate- and pipe-based heat exchange technology within the fertilizer industry. Chemequip, based in Shanghai, has worked in collaboration with Solex for more than a decade to develop the heat exchanger market within the People’s Republic of China. Today, Warren also had an opportunity to take the stage to share more about Solex's history, as well as new opportunities with energy recovery and upcycling. It's been an excellent first few days at the AOCS Annual Meeting & Expo in Montreal! On Monday, Scott Harris of Solex Thermal Science presented as part of a technical session panel on energy and efficiency optimization. Scott's presentation on how to optimize energy recovery for enhanced ROI in preparation plants showcased the role of vertical plate conditioners, vapour condensers and heat pumps in reducing processors' primary energy costs while also creating opportunities for energy recovery.
