At Sofina, Social Responsibility is at the heart of our business, and through our charitable foundation – The Sofina Foundation – we have raised over $8.2m for children’s causes across Canada. Last year alone, we supported 26 charities, positively impacting the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and their families across the country. Every dollar raised through our Dream Builders’ campaign is matched, dollar for dollar, by Sofina Foods. Through our Dream Builders’ Campaign have: -     Granted 139 wishes to Make-A-Wish Canada, the Shine Foundation and the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice -     Provided 344 days of camp for children living or affected by childhood cancer -     Donated $654,500 to various children’s hospitals across Canada. In addition to providing financial contributions to charities, we are extremely proud of our employees who have volunteered their time at various fundraising events including: -     Participating in Make-A-Wish trips and delivering wish boxes to families attending the trips -     Building parks in Calgary with Parks Foundation Calgary -     Volunteering with Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue agency, to help those experiencing food insecurity. At Sofina, social responsibility is embedded in every part of our business and as we continue to grow and expand, we want to ensure that we continue to conduct our business in an environmentally responsible manner.     In our recent 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, we shared our commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of our operations and the proactive approach we are taking to preserve the environments in which we operate.     We are proud to share a recent investment that we have made to improve our wastewater treatment system in our Mississauga Plant, which will help to improve the quality of our wastewater, prior to returning it to the municipal system, and reduce our water footprint.      We recognize that freshwater is a finite resource, and we are committed to taking the steps required to reduce our water footprint with the above investment and through working directly with municipalities including City of Toronto and Region of Peel , to implement water conservation measures at our facilities; including piloting low flow meters to monitor our water consumption in real-time and quickly address any excess water use.    We would like to say a big thank you to our Environmental and Engineering teams who have worked hard to renovate and replace our wastewater pre-treatment system. Recently, we held our National Commercial Conference with over 140 Sofina Builders in attendance from across Canada, and 3 special guests from Sofina Europe. This was a great opportunity to celebrate our successes over the past year and to share our priorities for the year ahead.     This was a great space for cross-functional learning and collaboration and throughout the conference, attendees heard engaging presentations from a range of speakers, held insightful discussions and shared best practices. We take every opportunity to celebrate the role of our loyal employees – our Sofina Builders – and the conference provided a platform to celebrate and recognize several Builders for their hard work and contributions.   Thank you to everyone who attended this event and made it a success.
