There is a simple joy experienced in communal baking. It together induces camaraderie, laughter, and a feeling of goodwill – and, of course, something delicious to eat. Further, when one's joy helps others, it deepens the experience by giving one a sense of purpose and impact. That’s the intent of Baking with Love, a program open to all interested seniors to its fully-accessible kitchen. The Sienna for Seniors Foundation has aligned with Toronto's Temple Emanu-El with a 2024 program grant in support of it’s Baking with Love program, not just because the benefits for its members, but also for the community’s ongoing relationship with Eva’s Place. Treats baked through the program will be shared with teens in need, building relationships across the generations. https://lnkd.in/gTj3qDQV

President and CEO of Sienna Senior Living| Scaling Business for Growth| Future of Senior Healthcare| Purpose Driven Business

This interview on BNN Bloomberg highlights the incredible work of Sienna's 12,500 team members, who show up every day to care for 10,000 Canadian seniors. Yes, we are the top-performing company on the TSX in the sector, and this success is the result of years spent building a culture of ownership and excellence. Our six consecutive quarters of solid operating results reflect our collective commitment to providing the best care, services, and homes for seniors. Interest in our sector has never been higher. I believe we've reached a pivotal moment where there's broad recognition that the demographic shift is well underway. The demand for retirement living and long-term care will only intensify in the years ahead. With seniors soon to comprise 1 in 4 Canadians, the need for high-quality senior living solutions is unprecedented. At Sienna, we're focused on expanding both retirement living and long-term care options to meet this growing demand. I'm so proud of what we've accomplished with our Board's support and senior executive team's leadership (David H., Jennifer Anderson, Geoff McIlmoyle, CFA, CPA, CA., Teresa Fritsch, MBA, MA, ICD.D, Olga Giovanniello M.Ed, C.Dir., Adam Walsh, Nancy A. Webb). I have never been more optimistic, and I look forward to continuing this journey of growth alongside our team, partners, and stakeholders. https://lnkd.in/gEDx-iUQ

Team members and residents welcomed Minister and local MPP Caroline Mulroney to Cedarvale Lodge Community! Minister Mulroney is a familiar face at the home, and it was a pleasure to host her again. During the visit, the Minister had the opportunity to view the site of Cedarvale Lodge's redevelopment, where we will build a new, modern, long-term care home with amenities and features to enhance the health and well-being of our residents. We were also thrilled to have her help us unveil the home's new name – Birch Landing Community – a name submitted by one of our very own residents! A special highlight was having the Minister and Sienna's President and CEO Nitin Jain present Sienna's Sparkle Award to Helen, a member of our welcoming committee, and CEO Spot Award to Rob, our "Superman" from the maintenance team, who is always ready to go the extra mile for the home. We are proud to join long-term care homes across Ontario in welcoming government and community partners as part of the Ontario Long Term Care Association's #LTCEngage2024 day of outreach.

The Sienna for Seniors Foundation is proud to support organizations that align with our purpose of Cultivating Happiness —not just in our homes but in the broader community. Through partnerships with organizations like the Saskatoon Council on Aging, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of older adults across Saskatchewan. Since 1991, the Saskatoon Council on Aging has supported adults 55 , offering social, recreational, and educational programs. With the Foundation’s support in 2024, we’re excited to help expand three impactful programs that bring joy and connection to older adults in Saskatoon and rural areas: Saskatoon Hub Club – A space for socializing and recreation. Saskatoon Tech Buddy – Helping seniors stay connected with technology. Pen Pal Program – Connecting seniors with elementary students for meaningful exchanges. Many of the charities we support are nominated by team members, who witness firsthand the profound difference these programs make. Together, we’re enriching lives and building stronger communities for seniors. https://lnkd.in/gTj3qDQV

This is not your typical graduation – a special ceremony was held at Harmony Hills Community to recognize our incredible Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who have earned their Med Assistant Certificates! This achievement is a testament to their hard work and highlights their commitment to providing even more comprehensive care for our residents. PSWs play a vital role in delivering essential care, and the Med Assistant certification allows them to safely administer medication, ensuring our residents receive the highest level of support. This expanded responsibility is a critical part of enhancing the care experience in long-term care homes in Ontario, and we couldn’t be more proud of these graduates. #PSWs #HarmonyHillsCommunity #ProudMoment #SeniorCare #Teamwork
