🌟 Meet Anthony, a talented 21-year-old artist whose artwork is now proudly showcased at Central Branch. Anthony, who has autism, has found his passion for art supported by his mom, Daniela, who hopes this opportunity will continue to fuel his creativity. Anthony's artistic journey began in childhood, nurtured through art classes where he loves inventing characters and experimenting with colours and styles. Having his art exhibited in a public space is an exciting new experience, deepening his connection with the community. "I feel immense pride seeing his art displayed," Daniela shared. "He truly loves what he does, and now others can share in that joy too." This exhibit celebrates community, inclusion, and the beauty of unique talents. Anthony's story is a reminder of the happiness found in supporting each other's creativity. Visit Central Branch (behind the children's area service desk) this month to admire Anthony’s artwork!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Richmond Hill Public Library has won the prestigious 2024 John Cotton Dana Award from the American Library Association for our innovative rebranding campaign! We are honoured to be one of eight libraries nationwide selected for this award. Our brand campaign, "Yes, at the Library," challenged preconceptions and showcased the endless possibilities available through our library. With the support of Underline Studio, we created a vibrant new visual identity that truly reflects our diverse community. “This award is a testament to our commitment to innovation and community engagement,” said Josh Dyer, Director of Content and Community Engagement. “It inspires us to continue evolving and demonstrates the immense value libraries offer today.” Members of our marketing team proudly accepted the award during the awards ceremony at this year’s ALA Annual Conference. This recognition celebrates the hard work of our team and the positive impact our rebranding has had on the community. We are deeply grateful for the support and enthusiasm of our patrons, and we look forward to continuing our mission of fostering lifelong learning, connection, and innovation.
