The work you do matters and so do the clients you do it for. It's not simply a showcase of your skills and capabilities. At Resonator, our mandate is to collaborate on projects that educate, inspire and have an impact on our shared future. We’ve been doing this for a long time. Long enough to know that the marketing and communications campaigns we put out into the world represent us as much as our clients. Whether it’s for the sustainability sector, not-for-profit organizations or financial corporations, we approach every project, large or small, as a communications initiative that affects the overall brand – our client's and our own. Follow us and see what we’ve been up to or reach out to see what we can do for you. https://lnkd.in/gHQ3ECrW

Today and tomorrow, we're partnering alongside UNESCO, University of Saskatchewan, The University of British Columbia and CBC in the International Conference on The New World Information and Communications Order: History and Legacies. Tomorrow's session at the University of Toronto Sidney Smith Hall, is open to the public and is being recorded for Ideas, CBC Radio's program of contemporary thought and features Pacinthe Mattar (Independent Journalist) Asmaa Malik (Toronto Metropolitan University) Christopher J. Lee (Bard Prison Initiative) Maurice Jr. Labelle (University of Saskatchewan) The conference, presented by NANRep (Non-aligned News Research Partnership) brings together an international and diverse group of scholars to exchange research on the histories and legacies of the New World Information and Communication Order (NWICO) - the first global movement to decolonize information in history. The NWICO was a Global South-led intervention launched in 1978 to challenge an information ecosystem that marginalized communities in the Global South. By identifying the media as a site of struggle for human liberation and demanding equal access to information technologies, NWICO expanded the phenomenon of decolonization to create new anti-racist norms and international dialogue in the fields of journalism, information, and communications. NANrep is doing some incredible work to build this history and, as the conference name suggests, the impacts of NWICO reverberate today in critical ways. #journalism #history #decolonization #antiracism #communications

Resonator is proud to be a brand partner and in-kind sponsor of the 2024 Canadian Film Centre Gala: DECADES. This year’s gala pays tribute to the legacy of Canadian Film Centre Founder, Norman Jewison and his incredible contribution to film and our national industry. As the premier fundraising gala for the centre, the event is a celebration of arts, culture, creativity and fostering the future of Canadian storytelling. The gala supports the CFC’s mission to elevate extraordinary talent through our world-renowned programs. Following the gala, the public can attend the CFC After Dark After Party, so come join the celebration if you can! At Resonator, we're all excited to join the other attendees at the CFC Gala on March 16th, to celebrate the legacy of Canadian film and its bright future. #canadianfilm #normanjewison #gala #production

As we continue to share our work on climate this week, we highlight some of our international impact work. Working with our clients, Resonator brought the vision of the Urban Climate Resilience in Southeast Asia project online to help foster collaborations and knowledge sharing across the region. The project explored how climate change impacts interact with poverty and vulnerability to increase the risk for urban residents in Southeast Asia. It combines knowledge from both academic literature and action research to explore the creation of climate-resilient urban governance that is both inclusive and equitable. We're proud to have been part of this cricital initiative. #climateresilience #sustainability #research #governance

As we continue to celebrate some of our favourite environmental campaigns this week, we're happy to brighten your day with this spot just launched for County of Simcoe. It features Gus and Max, raccoon characters we created over a decade ago. Here, they're promoting composting and leaf and yard waste collection as part of a series that will include organics. In 2024, the characters came to life as puppets, voiced by the incredible talent of Shawn Devlin. These spots are directed by Sally Lunn and Chantal Garcia, dp Nigel Akam, produced by Richard Peirce, written by Duncan MacKinnon and chris tait, editor Chris Pozzobon. This #internationalwomensday2024 has us thinking about the world we want to live in and the work we do. This piece was produced for World Council on City Data for their inaugural event and this manifesto still resonates with us. While we may not be a city, at Resonator, we are a society, and we're proud that more than half of our staff are women who are helping to change the landscape for our clients every day. #iwd2024 #internationalwomensday2024 #womeninbusiness
