As architects, we recognize the responsibility we have in shaping spaces that respect and reflect the deep histories and cultures of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis. We remain committed to listening, learning, and working in partnership with Indigenous communities to build a future grounded in reconciliation, respect, and understanding. We encourage everyone to take time today to listen to Indigenous voices, educate themselves, and reflect on how we can all contribute to meaningful change. •• •• #truthandreconciliation #indigenousvoices #orangeshirtday #wearorange #everychildmatters

Remedy is proud to showcase the Kehewin Cree Nation Pre-K to 12 School project, which finished up in October 2020. The two storey, 3000m2 building houses teaching and office spaces, in addition to learning commons areas, a commercial kitchen, gymnasium, and ceremony room, all supported by well thought out, high efficiency mechanical equipment to provide all ventilation and conditioning to the spaces. This school supports 21st Century Learning by fostering creative teaching, integrating digital tools, promoting innovation, and connecting students with local and global communities through interactive collaboration spaces. We are happy to have played a part in the building another fine learning institution in Alberta. *This project was completed by the Edmonton team as DA Fox Engineering.   Project Team Architect: Reimagine Architects General Contractor: Genmec ACL Inc.

For #NationalForestWeek, we wanted to show this marvel in sustainable #masstimber construction. Relaxing and reconnecting on the banks of history – The Lodge at Métis Crossing is a 40-room, boutique luxury lodge, located on historical Métis river lots. Overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, guests to the lodge will inevitably find themselves summoned by a sense of nostalgia and wonder about what came before. The natural beauty is absolutely breathtaking in person. Western Archrib manufactured and supplied the interior Westlam Spruce beams and the Spruce Westdek decking, as well as the exterior Douglas Fir beams for this relaxing retreat. The responsibly managed Alberta spruce used in our glulam was supplied by our sister company Northland Forest Products Read more: https://lnkd.in/gQJ9zAPe Mass Timber: Western Archrib Architect: Reimagine General Contractor: Genmec ACL Inc. Last week, five incredible members of our team, Vivian Manasc, Connie Yuen, Claudia Yehia-Alaeddine, Rita Melo Reuss, and Marwa Alshara, had the privilege of attending the 1000 Women event, hosted by NorQuest College and presented by Enbridge. The room was filled with powerful, compassionate women, all coming together to break down barriers to education and ensure that students in need can reach their academic goals. At Reimagine, we are deeply committed to empowering women in business. Our founding principal, Vivian Manasc, has been a trailblazer in the field, showing us all the importance of leadership, resilience, and creativity! She inspires us to champion the role of women in architecture and beyond. By raising funds to remove financial obstacles, this movement gives students the opportunity to pursue education, embrace their own independence, and build fulfilling careers. We are so grateful to the organizers and sponsors for their continued commitment to making a difference. Thank you for creating opportunities that will impact lives for generations to come! •• •• #womeninbusiness #womeninarchitecture #femaleleadership #1000women

A big thank you to Education Snapshots for featuring the Saddle Lake Onchaminahos Elementary School! The school was designed not just as a nurturing environment where students can feel supported and inspired every day. It’s a place where the community’s rich traditions meet forward-thinking architecture, creating a meaningful space for future generations. We’re so proud to have collaborated with the Saddle Lake Cree Nation on this project and are grateful for the opportunity to help bring their vision to life. Thank you again to Education Snapshots for highlighting this special project! 🌿 Drawing inspiration from nature, the University of Alberta Botanic Garden Main Entry Pavilion design emulates the appearance and structure of a leaf or flower petal. The pavilion provides spaces for ticketing, displays, concessions, washrooms and a large covered outdoor gathering space. The building also includes a glazed entranceway and a spacious interior, providing visitors with a comfortable and inviting space to gather and prepare for their visit to the garden. The roof is made of Western Archrib mass timber and is supported by a series of steel columns, giving the structure a dynamic and organic feel. Glued-laminated timber panels are supported by a series of radial glued-laminated beams to best accommodate the complex geometry. Amazing project team on this one!
