Polar had the pleasure of attending the hEDGE Financial Services Conference in May and meeting bright and talented students from the University of Waterloo - School of Accounting and Finance. Our Data Scientist, Jeffrey Chin, and Product Associate, Olivia Oliver, hosted a workshop introducing Polar, alternative data, and sharing career paths in the hedge fund industry. On Tuesday, November 28th Lauren Watt received the Young Champion Award during the AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association Canada volunteer awards. The AIMA Canada Volunteer Awards celebrates outstanding members to have donated their time and efforts to help advance AIMA Canada’s mission for advocacy and education The Youth Champion Award celebrates a young professional who has shown curiosity and commitment while making a meaningful contribution to the advancement of the alternative investment industry in Canada. Congratulations Lauren!

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of joining Western Capital Markets for their annual finance conference. Arun V., an equity investor at Polar and Western alumni, discussed career paths in finance and asset management and shared his experiences on the Women in Finance panel.

This morning, as part of our United Way Greater Toronto campaign, a group of us joined TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization restocking shelves, packaging and handing out food, and connecting with the team and community of Thorncliffe Park. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time!
