Switching to biodegradable garbage bags is an excellent way to make your home more eco-friendly. Regular plastic bags take hundreds of years to break down in landfills, but biodegradable options decompose much faster, reducing their environmental impact. By making this simple change, we can help decrease the pollution caused by plastic waste. Learn how: https://lnkd.in/g_tSFCEK

It’s July, which means it’s also Plastic Free July! The annual, month-long event was founded by environmental activist Rebecca Prince-Ruiz and a small, dedicated team out of Western Australia in 2011 as a way to show everyone that small changes — made by individuals — can play a very big part in changing the world around us. Plastic is everywhere: on streets, at parks, in landfills, and our oceans. Just 70 years ago, plastic pollution didn't exist. So, how did we reach this point where plastic particles are now found in the air, rain, our blood, and every corner of the ocean? Recycling is not a solution to this problem. Did you know less than 10% of all plastic ever made has been recycled? Plastic Free July encourages people to sign a pledge to reduce their use of single-use plastic — as well as their overall environmental impacts — during the month of July.

Your kitchen sink is filthier than a toilet seat. Yes, you read that right. 🤮 Your kitchen sink-the same place you wash food, dishes, and your hands - is among the ranks of items dirtier than a toilet seat. To get rid of unwanted bacteria, it'll take more than just dish soap and hot water. Which is why it's not only important to know how to properly clean your kitchen sink, but how to disinfect it, too.
