About us

Save-On-Foods is a Jim Pattison business with a legacy of outstanding value and customer service that dates back more than 100 years to its start in 1915. Originally named the Overwaitea Food Group for the founder’s practice of selling 18 ounces of tea for the price of 16, the store became known as the ‘overweight-tea’ store. With almost 22,000 team members throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Yukon, Save-On-Foods is more than just a great place to shop—it’s a great place to work. Save-On-Foods is one of Western Canada’s largest employers and consistently ranks among B.C.’s Most Loved Brands. Supporting local communities is the foundation of the Save-On-Foods brand. Combined with its supplier partners, team members and generous customers, Save-On-Foods has donated more than $40 million to children’s hospitals, and contributes $3 million in donations to food banks across Western Canada each year. Save-On-Foods is committed to its core values of service, people, innovation, fun and integrity and strives to be the most loved and trusted employer, partner, corporate citizen and retailer in Canada by delivering Always Customer First service. Congratulations to Lance Bell and Jolene Watsyk on their recent promotions to Regional Director. Lance Bell has three decades of retail grocery experience in the Edmonton area. As a store manager since 2008 and a 2022 Pattison Food Group Leadership Excellence Award winner, Lance has always been eager to take on new challenges and opportunities. Lance understands the importance of providing his team with the tools they need to run successful departments and to prepare them for promotions within the store and across the company. With 25 years of experience, Jolene has most recently led the team at one of the company's busiest flagship stores, Save-On-Foods South Point. She is a well-rounded leader who consistently raises the bar when it comes to operational excellence. As our assistant store manager at Save-On-Foods Fleetwood in Surrey, B.C., Travis Fehr is our next team member in the spotlight. Travis is excited about the growth of the company and the number of opportunities available to team members. He is actually a Red Seal certified chef who began his career with the company as a cook at Urban Fare Coal Harbour in 2009! We asked Travis what he likes most about his workplace, and this is what he said: "Being that Fleetwood is an International store, having products and ingredients from around the world that you wouldn’t find at any regular Save-On-Foods makes the inner chef in me feel like I’m a kid in a candy store!" | #SaveOnFoods #PattisonFoodGroup #TeamMemberSpotlight

Today our team member spotlight is on personal delivery assistant Darrell Harvey. Known for his calm demeanor, positive attitude and joy for serving others, Darrell has been a staple in his customers' lives over the past five years. Each day presents a new adventure when he clocks in for his shift which is a big part of what he loves about his job delivering groceries to our online shopping customers. We asked Darrell what his most memorable moment with a customer was: "Two young children (a brother and sister) each gave me a drawing of me carrying groceries to their house. In the drawings, there is me, their mom, themselves, and the van. During the Covid-19 lockdown I saw signs in windows thanking me for delivering their groceries and kids waving." #SaveOnFoods #PattisonFoodGroup #TeamMemberSpotligjht
