About us

Save-On-Foods is a Jim Pattison business with a legacy of outstanding value and customer service that dates back more than 100 years to its start in 1915. Originally named the Overwaitea Food Group for the founder’s practice of selling 18 ounces of tea for the price of 16, the store became known as the ‘overweight-tea’ store. With almost 22,000 team members throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Yukon, Save-On-Foods is more than just a great place to shop—it’s a great place to work. Save-On-Foods is one of Western Canada’s largest employers and consistently ranks among B.C.’s Most Loved Brands. Supporting local communities is the foundation of the Save-On-Foods brand. Combined with its supplier partners, team members and generous customers, Save-On-Foods has donated more than $40 million to children’s hospitals, and contributes $3 million in donations to food banks across Western Canada each year. Save-On-Foods is committed to its core values of service, people, innovation, fun and integrity and strives to be the most loved and trusted employer, partner, corporate citizen and retailer in Canada by delivering Always Customer First service.
