THE LONG GAME – GOOD FOR NETWORKING & FOR LIFE You know those moments when you chat with someone and in an instant the time fades away because you’ve unknowingly, joyfully, connected with a kindred spirit? Yeah. I dig those times too. In fact, I had one of those glorious moments this week. Although we had been connected via LinkedIn for quite some time, this week I finally had a chance to connect with Karolya Hutniak Vargscarr (or as I now know to call them, KV 😊) face-to-face, in REAL LIFE, over breakfast. Our over-too-quickly time together was not about networking, however. It was about sharing, celebrating, connecting and giving life to ideas. It was about acknowledging that all good things – work we care about, partnerships, healing, community, friendships and yes, strong networks – are built by investing in the long game. You can’t rush these things or bend them to your will. You have to be willing to put in the time, listen to others, evolve and grow as you learn new things, risk being wrong or brave enough to say “I don’t know. I don’t understand.” For those of you who don’t know, KV is the Regional Director of NPower here in Manitoba. NPower Canada offers free (no cost - zero beans!) tech training programs and certifications (how awesome is that?) and KV and their team are committed to the long game of making good things happen for people here in Manitoba. If you want to know more, join them (and me! 😎) at Manitoba Association for Career Development's provincial career development conference, Let's Get to Work, on November 1st! Early bird tickets🐣are on sale for #LGTW2024 (August only!) here: ➡ https://lnkd.in/ePtQ7gnz ⬅ Learn more about NPower Manitoba here 👇 https://lnkd.in/epbwbUjt #networking #careerdevelopment #Manitoba
