Make a difference by renting your space to a refugee! 🏡 Property owners and developers have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of those seeking safety and a fresh start in Canada. Here's why you should consider opening your doors to refugee claimants: - Many refugee claimants receive financial support and are committed to building stable lives - After being connected with a settlement organization such as MOSAIC, refugee claimants are provided wrap-around services to ensure their success - As part of housing workshops provided by settlement agencies, refugee claimants are also highly aware of the rights and responsibilities associated with tenancy in Canada 📱Register today to become a housing provider here: https://lnkd.in/gdAXYcnU or contact us at [email protected] to learn more. #SupportRefugees #NewBeginnings #MakeADifference

July 14 is International #NonBinary People’s Day! This is a day that is meant to raise awareness for the experiences of non-binary people, foster a sense of community and connection, and encourage people of all identities to organize around issues that non-binary people face. This is also a day to celebrate the diversity that makes society strong. What Does It Mean to Be “Non-Binary”? Non-Binary People’s Day was intentionally chosen to fall between International Women’s Day and International Men’s Day. This is significant because “non-binary” means to be outside of the margins of a “traditional” binary. In this case, the binary of man or woman. Instead, non-binary people can lean more to one side than the other, somewhere in the middle, and/or remain fluid in the way that they perform their gender. This can impact the way that non-binary people live in many ways; from the way they dress, interact with and relate to others, and practice their cultures. What it means to be non-binary is different for every individual. Speaking with non-binary people on this day, during the month of Pride, and every other time of year can be a great way to learn more. #DiversityAndInclusion Resources - Is Nature Queer? - CBC (5 Minute Watch): https://lnkd.in/gMEhTg_N.
