A few takeaways from yesterday’s Millani event, “Moving to impact // L'évolution vers l'impact”: - Impact investing started in private markets and it is where impact per dollar is higher. - It is harder to do impact investing in public markets, as it is challenging to find funds and managers that have robust methodologies and standards. - It would help managers identify impact investing opportunities if companies disclosed more information on their impacts, set near-term targets and communicate on their progress towards those targets. - Intention is key and should come first when creating impact products. - Financial returns do not necessarily have to be compromised, depending on the objectives of the investor. - Boralex shared that they are taking out story telling from their CSR report (example: employees planting trees). They are focusing on compliance reporting and disclosing more raw data for investors. Thanks to all panelists for the insights and to Millani for the organization!

On Monday afternoon, a total solar eclipse was visible from Montreal! We gathered on the terrace of our Montreal office for this historic event that no one wanted to miss! It was an unforgettable moment that we all enjoyed together, with our glasses on and our heads turned skyward :) Ce lundi après-midi avait lieu une éclipse solaire totale, visible depuis Montréal ! Nous nous sommes réunis sur la terrasse de notre bureau de Montréal pour cet évènement historique que personne ne voulait manquer ! Ce fut un moment inoubliable que l'on a eu plaisir à vivre tous ensemble, les lunettes sur les yeux et la tête tournée vers le ciel :)
