Three years ago, our CEO, Nanette Sene, told Philippe Telio that one day, when she is ready, she would return to pitch her business at Startupfest and win. She meant every word! 💜 Last Friday, Juno had the honor of receiving 3 prizes at Startupfest: $100K from the Black Entrepreneur pitch $100K From BDC who matched the BEP $25K Audience Choice Award We are overwhelmed with gratitude for not only the prizes, but also the encouragement we received from all of you. Last week, Juno had the honor of pitching our business at the Gala DémoDay hosted by La base entrepreneuriale HEC Montréal At place des arts. In front of an audience of more than 700 people, twelve promising startups presented their pitch, hoping to win one of eight prizes on offer, worth up to 10000$. We are thrilled to announce Juno won 3 prizes that night: the Acceleration Prize (10000$) the Communication Prize (3000$) and the People's Favorite Award (3000$) This was the fruit of months of hard work and we could not be more proud. We are extremely moved by all the support and encouragement we have received so far. Each win shows us that indeed, our product has the capacity to make a change. On the 25th of May, Juno attended the Black Pitch Contest held in Vancouver by Black Entrepreneurs & Businesses of Canada Society (BEBC), a non-profit organization that supports Black entrepreneurs by providing grants, coaching, and exposure. The Black Pitch Contest is a nation wide competition in which 230 participants compete over the course of several months. A panel of judges, as well as public votes, select the top 5 finalists who get the chance to pitch their business in front of an audience during the Black Business Summit for a chance to win $25,000. We are honoured to be this year’s winner! A huge thank you to Craig Wellington and his entire team at the Black Opportunity Fund (BOF) for their generous contribution to Juno Technologies. Happy birthday Juno Technologies!!! 🎉 Founders Nanette Sene and Lynn Doughane are breaking new ground in the #MedTech and #FemTech fields with their innovative technology helping women manage their menstrual cramps with a convenient portable device. Just this month, they've: ↪ Brought home first place at the Medical Technology & Digital Health pitch competition at Effervescence 2024 awards. ↪ Won the 6th edition of the Excellence Grants for Women's Entrepreneurship award established in honor of the co-founders of the Fondation J. Armand Bombardier. ↪ Hired a new social media manager, the awesome Yanny Nelson (who happens to be my Concordia University digital advertising program mentee!)
