About us

The Institute of Public Administration of Canada, known as IPAC, is a national organization with the motto: “Dedicated to excellence in public service” Founded in 1947, IPAC is a dynamic membership-based association of people who work in, study and support a professional public service as an essential part of our democratic government. The Saskatchewan Regional Group was formed in 1962 and is one of 19 regional groups across the country. Our purpose is: To foster a community of excellence in public service as an impartial local forum and as part of a national and international network of practitioners and scholars advancing the interests of public administration. We work to do this in a number of ways: - serve as a meeting place for public policy practitioners and academics; - provide the opportunity to share best practices and increase networking among colleagues; and - develop leading edge knowledge and championing innovation and leadership IPAC membership is built from from individuals from all levels of government, academia and those interested in public administration. IPAC creates effective knowledge networks and promotes public administration research in Canada.

    IPAC Saskatchewan now accepts 2024 Lieutenant Governor and Promising New Professional Award nominations. The Lieutenant Governor Award The Lieutenant Governor Award recognizes a person who has demonstrated distinctive leadership and exceptional achievement in public administration in Saskatchewan. The Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan will present this award during a ceremony hosted by the Saskatchewan Regional Group of IPAC. Previous recipients of this award include meritorious public servants from all levels of government and various fields of interest and public sector specialization across Saskatchewan. The Promising New Professional Award The Promising New Professional Award recognizes an individual new to public service (less than five years of cumulative experience in public service) who demonstrates: Leadership potential within the public service; The ability and potential to continue and constantly improve upon the sound work of public administration and public servants in Saskatchewan; and The ideals and values of IPAC Saskatchewan Regional Group.
