As we look back on the last 25 years in business, one memory that continues to shine is the day we were introduced to Lumina Learning. Over the years, we’ve harnessed tools from Lumina Learning as part of our commitment to fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture at INCITE. Every Inciter has completed the #LuminaSpark assessment, generating an insightful profile of four, colour-coded personality types built off their responses. What’s fascinating is that our team showcases an almost even split between yellow-green (people-focused) and red-blue (outcome-focused) traits, a dynamic balance indeed. During internal planning sessions, we revisit our profiles to reflect on our tendencies, strengths and areas for growth. By comparing our positions on the Lumina wheel, we gain a deeper understanding of each other, fostering stronger partnerships and identifying areas where teammates might face challenges. Can you guess where each team member sits on the Lumina wheel shown below? #Culture #LuminaLearning #LuminaSpark #Incite25Years #StrategicPlanning

Earlier this month the INCITE team gathered for a full-day strategic planning retreat, a pivotal moment in our year that allows us to refocus and realign on our goals as a business and team. Stepping out of the office to dedicate time to strategic discussions helps us stay connected and purposeful in everything we do. Here's a quick recap of what we covered: - Reviewed Incite's core purpose and values - Mapped out business priorities and key growth opportunities - Brainstormed initiatives for each priority and discussed as a team We ended the day with a team dinner and hit up the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton for their 'Dinos and Drinks' event. Now that's what we call a dino-mite night! 🦕🍸 #StrategicPlanning #TeamBuilding #InciteStrategy #YEGbusiness

Incite Lesson 18/25 - As a former reporter and current strategist, I sometimes joke that I was born asking questions. It's served me well in many capacities, but in a new work environment - it's something I often consider tempering. Starting a new role is already challenging and I hardly want to be pegged as the person with the endless questions. But, as a Principal Strategist joining an established team at a business that's been thriving for 25 years, I found myself a little lost and working to decipher their internal language codes.     So, I started asking questions. Frankly, I haven't stopped. And as I found out over the last 7 months, my INCITE team members embrace questions with patience and enthusiasm. Moreover, they value the perspective, insights and innovations I bring to the table — the ‘languages’ I’m fluent in myself.    It's not a new lesson, but it's one I've been glad to be reminded of. Curiosity and open-communication are key to a successful onboarding experience and questions can open the door to collaboration. The writer in me had more to say on this topic (shocking), so keep an eye out for my Incite Blog debut on the importance of shared language, coming later this month.   Follow along with Incite’s other 25th Anniversary lessons and memories at https://lnkd.in/gueHnhVh. #marketing #teamculture #Incite25years

When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, it was an incredibly challenging time for businesses everywhere. It felt overwhelming for many, including us at INCITE. While we were fortunate to continue operating virtually with relative ease, we faced struggles, alongside our clients, fellow businesses, entrepreneurs, and friends. Yet, those early months of the pandemic stand out as a pivotal time for us. It was uncharted territory, and in many ways, we had no choice but to unite in the face of uncertainty. Some of the pandemic memories that remain vivid include: 🔹Deeply personal conversations with clients, as they shared the impacts COVID-19 had on their businesses and employees, and together we worked through strategies to navigate the rapidly changing landscape. 🔹Collaborative working sessions focused on mapping out how we could reshape Incite’s offering to support businesses through the pandemic and help them get “back to business” even stronger. 🔹Partnering alongside Jeff Tetz and his team at Results. along with other Edmonton-based professional service firms to launch the Compass Collective, an advisory group offering free workshops, guidance, and resources for SMEs struggling to adapt or survive the pandemic and position themselves for long-term success. 🔹A time marked by contingency planning, cash flow management, and frustration, yet equally shaped by collaboration, empathy, big ideas, and possibility. In those early days, it became clear that none of us were in this alone. We rallied together, leaned on one another, and served the community in any way we could. COVID-19 reminded us that even in times of uncertainty, we can find strength in unity and make a meaningful difference by supporting each other. This sense of community and shared purpose will stick with us for years to come. This is memory 18/25. One of the valuable lessons we’ve learned at INCITE is well-described by the analogy that "it is difficult to read the label from inside the bottle." This idea has always resonated with me given my love for wine (because IMO that’s the best type of bottle to be holding!), but its a simple truth that often gets overlooked, especially when we’re deeply immersed in our own work. When we’re too close to something—whether it’s a project, a business decision, or even our own leadership approach—we can miss critical details or get trapped in a narrow viewpoint. At Incite, we’ve made it a practice to help our clients “read the label” of their own bottles. Through objective and unbiased stakeholder consultation and research, we provide them with the external perspective they need to see their challenges and opportunities clearly. By inviting external insights, we can see things more clearly, help clients make more informed decisions, and ultimately, move forward with greater confidence. This mindset isn’t just something we preach to our clients; it’s something we practice ourselves. We’ve seen firsthand how valuable it is to bring fresh perspectives, especially when we’re too deeply involved. We regularly seek input from advisors, clients, and industry peers to ensure that we’re not falling into the trap of our own biases. It’s not always comfortable to hear, but it’s almost always worth it. So, the next time you find yourself stuck or unsure, remember that sometimes the best way to see things is to step outside your own bottle and ask someone help you read the label. You might be surprised by what you discover. Follow along with Incite’s other lessons and memories at https://lnkd.in/gp5V_WVc. #Incite25Years #SilverAnniversary #LessonsLearned #yegbusiness

As we celebrate 25 years of INCITE, we’re proud to reflect on how innovation and partnership have shaped our journey. A standout example is the evolution of our Turning Point business development program. Launched in 2015, Turning Point was created to help clients better align sales and marketing for a more consultative, relationship-driven approach to business development. Partnering with Colleen Madsen, we introduced a boot camp that quickly became the foundation of Turning Point. Since then, we’ve broadened the program to emphasize client relationship management and strategic partnerships. Turning Point provides flexible learning options—whether in-person, hybrid or online—with custom programs tailored to clients and annual open courses for broader engagement. In the past decade, Turning Point has: - Welcomed over 50 organizations - Expanded to 15 core modules - Graduated nearly 500 participants What began as an idea has become a thriving practice area, demonstrating Incite’s commitment to innovation and responsiveness to our clients’ evolving needs. Our annual INCITE Family BBQ was a blast, with egg and spoon races, bocce ball, ladder golf, Jenga, and so much more. A special shoutout to Associate, Merissa Paulhus, for organizing this fantastic event—everything was spot on!    Thanks to everyone who came out and brought their families along; we always love meeting your loved ones. Despite a bit of a wasp invasion, the weather was on our side, making it a perfect night to remember!    #InciteBBQ #InciteStrategy #Culture
