We're a very competitive bunch at Hyundai Canada, and every year we host an internal competition that allows us to monitor each other's progress in real time, further fueling friendly competition. The HAC Walking Challenge is now in its 4th year, gives back to our community, and serves as a reminder to focus on our health and wellness. We are proud to announce that this year's 96 participants (10 teams) from coast-to-coast collectively walked over 4,000,000 steps during the month of June. Our teams raised over $18,000 which will be donated to their respective charity of choice! #ProgressforHumanity

To commemorate National Indigenous History Month and support the voices and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp.’s team members carried out a fundraiser event to support the women and children at the Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT) and spent a day volunteering at the centre to support the community and centre workers. Moreover, we thank Raven Lacerte of the Moose Hide Campaign for inviting our team members into a Circle workshop to learn about the challenges the community faces and to stand for ending violence against women, children and all those along the gender continuum. #NIHM2024 #ProgressforHumanity

In a company as huge as Hyundai Motor Group, it's fulfilling to see CSR efforts that reach us close to home in Canada. With the support of our Global office, Hyundai's North American organization is continuing to work with One Tree Planted, and this year, we will plant 100,000 trees divided equally between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to help recover nearly 25,000 hectares of land destroyed by wildfires in Atlantic Canada last year. This year's collaboration with One Tree Planted marks 650,000 trees planted since the inception of the partnership, including 50,000 trees in British Columbia last year. The need for mental health support for children and adolescents has risen substantially since the pandemic - between 35-40 children and youth come to Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH)'s Emergency Department every month in need of acute mental health care, however the hospital doesn't have acute care services for children and adolescents. This is all set to change for the better, thanks to the forward thinking and proactive efforts of Oak Valley Health's MSH and its Foundation who are working towards a brand new child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit. Hyundai Canada is proud to donate $500,000 to help kickstart the $3.1-million fundraiser goal to build this new facility. Please reach out to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation if you are a local business ready to join the crusade for adequate mental health support, and donate to this crucial initiative. #ProgressforHumanity

What a great way to wrap up our Wellness Month than by learning that Hyundai Canada has been recognized as a Best Workplace for Mental Wellness by Great Place to Work® Canada. In addition to our formal mental health benefits, we have a number of different opportunities for our people to obtain support in the wellness space. Whether it's lunchtime yoga, a 7-minute stretch during your workday, our upcoming walking challenge, or bringing in mental health professionals for private appointments and speaker sessions like our session last week with Anthony McClean, wellness is a crucial part of our day-to-day and overall health.
