Nice to see Hyperion Global Energy getting a feature story in the Toronto Star. While test quantities have only been produced so far, they are now at TRL-7! They have proven they can produce a quality mineral product from cement plant #CO2 and that it can meet the technical standards for its use in a wide variety of commercial products. This is a huge accomplishment by their team, let by Heather Ward. Lafarge Canada is piloting Hyperion Global Energy’s Tandem Carbon Recycling system at its Eastern Ontario plant to capture and recycle flue gas from cement manufacturing, aiming to produce low-carbon concrete and help meet net-zero emissions goals. 🌍🔋 Exciting News in Clean Technology! 🌿 We're thrilled to highlight Hyperion Global Energy Corp., an OCTIA member, leading the charge in decarbonizing industries like cement. Their innovative collaboration with Lafarge Canada sets a new standard for carbon recycling and sustainable practices in the construction sector. This is a homegrown carbon management success story for OCTIA, with Ottawa-based Hyperion launching its World's First Tandem Carbon Recycling System© here in the province at Lafarge Canada's Ontario Cement Plant in Bath, ON. The first-of-a-kind decarbonization technology permanently sequesters carbon emissions from the plant into high-performance mineral components used to make sustainable building solutions such as low-carbon concrete and other materials. The system is fully manufactured and piloted in Ontario working with local suppliers and trades, along with Hyperion’s team of skilled industrial engineers. This is a positive step forward for Ontario's clean economy and the advancement of emerging Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU) solutions in the province, which are key for Ontario's manufacturing sector including cement and concrete, to achieve #netzero.
