Managing a remote team can be challenging. From building a strong team culture to keeping everyone engaged, there's much to consider. To help you navigate the remote work landscape, we tapped into the wisdom of our leadership team, and they're sharing their top tips for leading remote teams. Here's a tip from Evelyn Ly, Director of Marketing at Humi: "Open two-way communication and meetings that aren't always focused on hitting metrics. Creating a space where team members can share their perspectives beyond the task at hand is so important. It can't be done when there's lack of trust or a feeling that they can't be or express themselves."

As our Director of Business Operations, Jordan Kovacs, CPA, CA, points out: “The biggest challenge of leading a remote team is keeping a pulse on your team’s satisfaction. Things can easily get transactional, so you really need to be intentional – carve out time to connect with your team and understand how they're feeling about the work they're doing, their role, and the fulfillment they get from it.” Building trust through open communication and transparency is essential for remote leadership – or any leadership, for that matter. Celebrate your team's wins, listen to their challenges, and make time for genuine connection. Effective leadership isn't just about tasks; it's about fostering a supportive environment where people thrive.

Do leaders feel imposter syndrome? 🤔 It's easy to assume successful leaders are brimming with confidence – but the truth is that many still grapple with imposter syndrome. That nagging doubt that whispers, "You're not good enough" can hold anyone back, regardless of experience or title. Here's the thing: imposter syndrome doesn't define you. As Anh Cindy Nguyen, Data Analytics Manager here at Humi, puts it: "Everyone has imposter syndrome to some degree. The worst that can happen if you try is that you don't get it – but if you don't try, you could miss out on something amazing." ✨
