We’re thrilled to announce the completion of a major infrastructure project for Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI)! Located near Portage la Prairie, east of Winnipeg on the Trans-Canada Highway, this highway bypass project involved various stages and complexities to manage ongoing high volumes of traffic while allowing construction to progress. The bypass was a critical project for the Province of Manitoba. Congratulations to our team and subtrade partners for their hard work and dedication to safety in completing this complex project! Check out this publication on safety performance measurement within ESG frameworks that our very own SVP of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Sustainability, Mike Court, co-authored. At Graham, through our three pillars of sustainability - Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) - we use objective measures to monitor and continuously expand our goals in alignment with ESG values and beliefs, while remaining accountable for delivering long-term value for our stakeholders. #ESG #Sustainability
We are excited to share our latest publication on safety performance measurement within ESG frameworks. “Safety Performance Measurement in Environmental, Social, and Governance Frameworks” is now published in the Professional Safety Journal (accessible below). This paper highlights the critical role of safety metrics in ESG disclosures and the need for modern, valid measures. Key Findings: 1. ESG reports often use outdated injury rates to measure safety, which doesn’t align with modern safety practices. 2. There’s a mismatch between what companies claim to value in safety and what they actually measure. 3. Using new, innovative safety measures in ESG reports can help modernize safety performance tracking, moving away from outdated methods. According to the U.S. Sustainable Investment Forum Foundation, investors now hold over $17 trillion in ESG-based assets. Major business decisions, including investment priorities and performance evaluations of Fortune 500 executives, are now driven by ESG criteria. As it stands, ESG is further entrenching antiquated metrics. ESG is an opportunity to modernize and institutionalize alternative metrics that align with our values and principles. Thank you to the Construction Safety Research Alliance for supporting the work and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) for publishing the results. A shout out to my co-authors: Elif Erkal, PhD, Fred Sherratt, Mike Court, Brad MacLean, and Michael Davis.

For the fifth consecutive year, we’re participating in One Walk – an internal company-wide event that promotes physical well-being, while also fighting hunger in our local communities. For every employee who participates, we’ll donate $50 to their local food bank. Last year we had 862 employees participate and raised over $50,000 for food banks across North America! We’re excited to launch this important initiative to support our employees’ physical health, while giving back to the communities where we live and build. #GrahamCares #OneWalk2024

A special shout out to Stuart O'Connor, a member of our Board of Trustees, for his fundraising efforts and going under the clippers to Shave for the Brave - all in support of Young Adult Cancer Canada! 🙌 #GrahamCares
It was an awe-inspiring morning at the Calgary Petroleum Club, for the second annual Stampede Shave for the Brave event, organized by Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC). Ten participants, including the Calgary Stampede’s First Vice Chair, Stuart O’Connor, and Executive Vice President, Business Services and Chief Financial Officer, Graeme Ryder, wrangled their networks and have been fundraising for the past few weeks, in anticipation of going under the clippers to “Shave for the Brave”. YACC supports young adults living with, through, and beyond cancer, with an emphasis on creating connection and helping them build a network to share their stories with support from their peers who are going through similar experiences. The Calgary Stampede is about celebrating community spirit and lending a hand to our neighbours, and we are very proud to support YACC.
