A Family Emergency Kit, or FEK, is a tool designed to solve multiple problems that families face after a disaster. Each kit starts with a household water purification solution. Kits can also include a solar light and hygiene items like soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. By packing Family Emergency Kits with our volunteers, we can drive down costs so we can help more people. When Disaster Strikes, We Respond
About us
The David McAntony Gibson Foundation, which operates as GlobalMedic, is a registered Canadian charity that has provided disaster relief and life-saving humanitarian aid since 2002. We were founded based on the idea that aid could be delivered more effectively and efficiently. GlobalMedic’s goal has always been to get the right aid to the right people at the right time. Professional emergency workers along with other professional and skilled volunteers help deliver our programs to the people who need it most. GlobalMedic strives to be innovative and cost-effective in every aspect of our organization. Whether it is re-imagining existing products, developing our award winning RescUAV program or finding new ways to engage Canadians, we are always looking forward. Please visit our website at www.globalmedic.ca to donate or volunteer!

We have provided them with equipment, supplies and training to help improve their capacity to protect their community. This week, they have been working tirelessly to rescue people trapped by the immense flooding caused by Typhoon Gaemi. Please help us continue supporting flood affected families by donating today. www.globalmedic.ca/donate

We are expanding our fire skid program to include UTVs. These smaller vehicles can quickly access fires in hard to reach areas and extinguish them before they burn out of control. Help us continue equipping firefighters across the country by donating to our Canadian Wildfire Response fund at www.globalmedic.ca/donate

When disaster strikes, people are evacuated, infrastructure is damaged and laundromats close, making the simple task of washing clothes an added burden. GlobalMedic has a new laundry trailer with washers, dryers, water tanks and a generator to provide people who are affected by a disaster with the comfort and dignity of clean clothes.

This weekend our Rapid Response Team flew to Armenia to work on our food security program for refugees. We want to thank Airlink, Inc., United Airlines and Lufthansa for helping fly our team there to deliver the right aid to the right people at the right time.

The Knights of Columbus have been incredible supporters ever since we moved into their former community hall in Oakville. They've been volunteering once a month packing food for local food banks and this weekend, they presented us with a generous donation of $5,000.
