I am delighted to be leading PROGENITER, one of the four projects that are part of #UBC-led $140M initiative to leverage BC’s academic and biosciences industry strengths to the develop novel treatments for the next viral threat to improve health outcomes for Canadians. One of the highlights of the Bloom Burton & Co. Healthcare Investor Conference last week was the chance to meet up with some of the best in the west! It was a real pleasure to catch up with Life Sciences BC and (left to right) Ali Ardakani, David Frost, Wendy Hurlburt, Lana Janes, Ph.D. at #BBHIC2024.

Nice to see Sriram Subramaniam conquer the #VanSunRun this sunny morning, and in Gandeeva blue! This annual Vancouver race for charity was established by Dr. Jack Taunton, the researcher/physician co-founder of the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre and founder of #SportsMedBC. This year, more than 45,000 people registered to participate. Gandeeva Therapeutics staff are an active bunch, with runners, climbers, soccer players, tennis buffs, yogis, and softball players in our mix, and we love to see our CEO leading the way! #WorkHardPlayHard

It was a wonderful evening at our second McCarthy Spotlight Speaking Series: AI Advancing Life Science Innovation! The event began with illuminating presentations from guest speakers Dr. Negin Farivar, Dr. Jason Crawford, Dr. Caitlin Schneider, Eran Elizur, and Dr. Carlos Uribe. ⚙️🏥🧬🔬We learned about AI's ability to spur life science research into the future, reducing waste and making time-consuming processes vastly more efficient. The accessibility of AI was a highlight, with software that can be installed on existing equipment and even personal devices. With game-changing innovations already in the market, it is exciting to think of what the future may hold.
