Simplifying product bundles for Shopify brands, one SKU at a time.

Ecomm friends who are hesitant to add discounts to their product bundles during BFCM… Let me crunch some numbers using a completely fictional scenario to show how you can still maintain healthy margins: Let’s say you run a cosmetic brand that sells foundations and concealers. The foundations are priced at $45 (costing $15 to produce), giving you a gross profit of $30 per foundation. Your concealers sell for $20 (with a production cost of $7), resulting in a gross profit of $13 per concealer. On average, you sell about 200 bottles of foundation and 50 tubes of concealer each week. That gives you a weekly gross profit of $6,000 for foundations and $650 for concealers. After noticing that customers often buy foundations and concealers together, you create a bundle. In this bundle, customers can buy both the foundation and concealer for $65 (the same total price as buying them separately but bundled for convenience). Now, let’s assume your weekly sales of 200 foundations remain the same (though, in a real Black Friday season, this number would likely increase—but we’re keeping it simple here). If customers start buying the bundle instead of purchasing the items separately, here’s what you’d be looking at: - $6,000 in gross profit for the foundation - $2,600 in gross profit for the concealer That’s a 300% increase in your gross profit from concealers by bundling products based on skin type. With this significant boost in gross profit, you can comfortably offer a $5-$10 discount on the bundle. Doing so will make the offer even more attractive, driving more conversions and increasing overall sales. See how the math starts mathing? Note: Obviously, it's not a scenario relevant to every brand, but this mindset can work for many. You're leaving money on the table by not bundling your products with a discount this BFCM. Hit up Freshly Commerce if you're on Shopify and want a bundling partner that works well with your shipping, inventory, and warehouse systems.

Product bundling and subscriptions… are like peanut butter and jelly. 🥪 Especially for brands that source various SKUs. We’ll explain. Allowing customers to subscribe to a product bundle offers a huge advantage to the brand: You can include products in the box based on your stock and inventory forecasting. Maybe a product you thought you would receive is now on backorder, or your supplier could only give you a set number of pallets–You can adapt with a product bundle. Not to mention the benefits for the customers…  1) They get to try a variety of products 2) They experience the full value your brand has to offer 3) They feel their bundle is more personalized to them Some examples… Bokksu’s Snack Box Subscription. Get mixed snacks to your door on a monthly to yearly basis. IPSY’s beauty box subscription is filled with products that are picked just for you.
