We're thrilled to recognize the grand prize winner for the Liz Hughes Award for Her Farm Radio is Woman Talk (Tok) from Voice of Kono in Sierra Leone. Woman Talk (Tok) is dedicated to addressing the critical issue of gender inequality, focusing on the challenges faced by women and children in society. By engaging a diverse audience of both men and women aged 18 and above, including students, business professionals, and farmers, it fosters discussions that promote equal treatment and access to resources. Through interviews with experts from the Family Support Unit and the inclusion of female voices as hosts and guests, the program enhances understanding of gender rights and empowers listeners to advocate for themselves. Feedback from the community indicates a positive shift in attitudes toward gender equality, underscoring the program's impact in challenging cultural norms and encouraging equitable practices.
