Over the last 3 years, EZShop has built over 500 eCommerce websites. Here are 5 of the most common reasons your #retail #ecommerce is failing. 1. Laziness You can’t just slap a single image and product title and expect people to purchase. Take the time to add multiple images, a clean, descriptive title and a full product description. If they can’t find the info on your website, they will go on your competitor’s site. 2. Quality You website’s banners and product images should be of the highest quality. The lower the quality of your website, the lower the trust factor. 3. You aren’t cross-selling / upselling If you’re a shoe store, and a user is ready to purchase a single pair of shoes, make sure to cross-sell cleaning products, shoe traveling bag, extra laces, etc. at the cart/checkout page. This will allow you to increase your cart size making it more worthwhile to ship out. This applies to any niche. 4. Your Free Shipping threshold is too high Of course this varies by product type. It’s normal to see a high free shipping threshold (free shipping over $250) on a furniture store for example, but if you’re selling $50 products, that shipping threshold shouldn’t be higher than $100. Even at that, some of your competitors may force you to decrease this threshold further. 5. Reviews Aim to get as many GMB reviews as possible (many ways to do this). This will significantly help your local and website SEO, hence driving further sales. Additionally, product reviews will drive credibility and overall trust in your website and in the products themselves. You can easily do this with apps and email automation. A lot of us underestimate how difficult and time consuming it is to effectively run an eCommerce. It’s so so hard. It’s not as easy as a lot of these drop shippers make it out to seem. It’s a huge investment, but after 500 websites, we know what you need to make it work 😉
