Special shout out to Cory, Dana Wells-Durocher, Dallas, and Wes for representing Explore at the Siksikaitsitapi Blackfoot Confederacy Golf Tournament yesterday, at Land-O-Lakes Golf Course in Coaldale, AB! 🌟 They played their hearts out and secured an impressive 3rd place finish! 🥉 The best part? Proceeds from the tournament are going to support Siksikaitsitapi Post Secondary Education students. 🎓 We’re proud to be a part of this incredible event hosted by the Blackfoot Confederacy Tribal Council, comprised of Kainai Nation, Siksika Nation, Piikani Nation, and Aamskapi Pikuni. An additional thanks to Dana, who not only played in this tournament but also put together our second team in the Community Futures Treaty7 Golf Tournament. 🏆 Her team, including Dallas Durocher, Lionel Two Horns, and Keon Doore, dominated the competition and came in 1st! 🎉(picture also included). Get to know more about our Business Relations Manager Kevin Coghlan and why we're thinking about changing his title to "CEO of Fun" Don't let the photo fool you. If you think Kevin's just your average Business Relations Manager, think again! He's got more nicknames than a Rap Star—Kev Baby, Boss Baby, Kev Dog, Kevy, KevMommy—the list goes on and on. Here's what Kevin had to share: 1. What is your favorite hobby or pastime? I am passionate about golfing, supporting the Oilers, and dedicating time to transporting my children to their various sporting events throughout the year. 2. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? I would choose the ability to read minds, as it would provide invaluable insights into understanding others and enhancing communication. 3. What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited? Turks and Caicos stands out as the most captivating destination I have visited; its water, beaches and amazing people are truly extraordinary. 4. Do you have any hidden talents or surprising skills? I have a small talent for cooking a wide range of dishes. Additionally, my daughter Paige (12 years old) and I specialize in creating and delivering ice cream cakes, particularly Mini Egg Ice Cream cakes, as random acts of kindness to friends, neighbors, schoolteachers, and dance coaches (etc). (Let me know if you ever want a cake…) 5. What is your favorite book or movie, and why? My favorites are Stand by Me and The Goonies. Both films feature exceptional acting and hold nostalgic value for me. 6. If you could meet or hang out with any famous person, who would it be and what would you ask them? Tiger woods - I would love to play a round of golf with him and just listen to his stories! 7. What is your go-to karaoke song? "Lover" by Taylor Swift. (And trust us, his dance moves are a sight to behold—T-Swift herself would be proud!) 💃🎤 8. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? “If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” 9. If you could switch jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be? I would switch jobs with #97 Connor McDavid. (And we're pretty sure McDavid would have a blast being Kev for a day!) 10. What is your favorite thing about working here? Aside from working with (the legend) Larissa Ohl (no I did not pay him to say that) At Explore, I appreciate the excellent team dynamics, collaborative environment, and the shared enthusiasm for our projects. Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has released their Industry-Wide Closure Spend requirement for 2025. The Government of Alberta’s Liability Management Framework requires an annual industry-wide closure spend to ensure decommissioning, remediation, and reclamation of oil and gas sites. The 2025 closure spend requirement is set at $750 million.   Summary: ✅ Annual review and adjustment of closure spend is based on market conditions and previous spending. ✅ Closure spend requirements increase the amount of closure work, ensuring environmental responsibility. ✅ "Micro" and "junior" dry gas producers may be eligible for a deferral of their 2024 and 2025 mandatory spend due to continued low natural gas prices. ✅ Licensee-specific mandatory closure spend for 2025 will be determined based on inactive liability as of September 1, 2024, and will be available in OneStop this fall.
