Thanks for sharing this awesome photo gallery of your experience, James Booth! We're a little bummed it's over, too. #EsriUC2024 #EsriUC #GIS #ArcGIS
What a week! I must admit, I’m a little bummed it’s over, but it was an experience I’ll never forget! The countless informative sessions, the course lab, the expo and map gallery, connecting with ESRI specialists/developers, and making new friends with other GIS workers across the world was brilliant! I’m immensely grateful to Durham Region (The Regional Municipality of Durham) for supporting me and to Esri Canada for hosting an amazing ‘Canada Night’ this week. Very excited to put what I’ve learned into action! 😁 #esriuc #esriuc2024 #esri

Building 36,000 housing units to accommodate 70,000 more residents by 2040 is part of City of Kelowna’s Official Community Plan. To better plan for growth, Kelowna created Model City, a parcel-based digital twin data model. It uses Esri’s ArcGIS technology to integrate disparate data and provide a comprehensive picture of what Kelowna looks like today, tomorrow and in the future. “Before Model City, the City would use external consultants to generate a growth projection as part of Official Community Plan. This process would take weeks or even months. Now with the City’s GIS-based digital twin, we can build multiple growth scenarios in hours to understand the tradeoffs of various growth options,” said Kevin Stehle, business systems analyst, City of Kelowna. Find out more about Kelowna's award-winning approach to using geospatial solutions in support of rapid growth. https://lnkd.in/guV8UJGX #smartcity #digitaltwin
