Project Spotlight: The Well We're thrilled to spotlight The Well, one of Toronto's most notable multi-use developments completed by EllisDon last year! Our team is proud to have built two out of the seven buildings that make up The Well, featuring a variety of retail, restaurants, high-rise condominium buildings, residential rental buildings, and a commercial office tower. For a more flexible and sustainable alternative to conventional heating and cooling both at The Well and surrounding communities, Enwave Energy Corporation expands its existing Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC). We are excited to welcome Stephen Best to the Enwave team as CFO! Stephen joins us with a wealth of experience that will be instrumental as we deliver on our strategic plan in the year ahead. Stephen's industry knowledge and proven leadership will be a strong asset to our team as we continue to navigate the ever-changing environment toward net zero. Prior to joining our team, Stephen was a Managing Director in the Value Creation & Analytics team within the Infrastructure & Natural Resources group at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2017, he has served on multiple boards of water and electricity utilities in Chile and worked closely with various portfolio companies to drive strategy, value creation, and operational efficiency. Stephen was also instrumental in advancing several strategic initiatives at Ontario Teachers', including the Fund’s Global Mindset strategy, the Infrastructure strategy, governance best practices, disruptive technology, GenAI, DEI, and more. Prior to Ontario Teachers’, Stephen was a Director in KPMG's Infrastructure M&A practice and gained extensive experience in Transaction Services and Audit at both KPMG and PwC. 🌊🏢 Cooling with Lake Ontario! George Brown College's Limberlost Place, a 10-storey mass timber building, will soon utilize Lake Ontario’s deep waters for heating and cooling. Enwave Energy Corporation’s system, which cools 180 buildings in downtown Toronto, now includes Limberlost Place as it becomes the first mass timber net-zero building to use this innovative technology.
