Recently, Oman HSE Manager, Omran Al Balushi, facilitated a workshop for key Rig personnel including Rig Managers, Night Tool Pushers, Drillers, Assistant Drillers, and HSE Advisors. This leader training equipped our leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to inspire and guide our crews towards achieving high performance and continuous improvement. Some of the critical information reviewed during the workshop, included: ✔ Safety Critical Equipment documents, Rig layouts, and the location of all lifesaving and Safety Critical Equipment and (Emergency Response Equipment). ✔ Risk Management tools such as HEMP and Bow Ties, Major Accident Hazards, Safety Critical Tasks, Safety Critical Positions, and activities detailed in the Risk Assessment. ✔ Emergency Response. ✔ Review of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Data of operational and HSE KPI’s. We are thrilled to announce that Ensign Rig 968 has reached a remarkable milestone: 7 years without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) since May 2024 while working with our valued client, Santos. This exceptional safety record is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire crew, as well as the collaborative efforts of all personnel involved in the rig’s operations. We had the opportunity to gather both the new crew members starting their hitch and the current crew who were on tour, taking a break from operations to celebrate this milestone. In a conversation with our Rig Manager, Nathan Drew, he emphasized the importance of stability in maintaining this impressive LTI-free record. Despite numerous personnel changes over the years, the current night managers and two of the four drillers have been with the rig throughout its seven-year period. This stability, combined with the commitment of the entire team to Ensign’s safety policies and procedures, has contributed to this remarkable achievement. Nathan also highlighted that the cohesive effort of all involved including OCR’s, Ensign personnel, and third-party teams, has been crucial to maintaining this record. Matthew Thompson, Senior Drilling Engineer at Santos, noted that Rig 968 handles the most varied well program among all Santos operating rigs, which underscores the crew’s exceptional adaptability and focus. This milestone reflects their dedication to safely navigating the diverse challenges presented by each well program. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire team on Rig 968 for this outstanding accomplishment. In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, held every year in October, Ensign participated in a Pink Out Day (October 17), where employees and our rigs, throughout the U.S, wore pink. Thank you to all of our U.S. offices and rigs for participating in our aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects one in eight women in the United States in their lifetime, with 15% having family history of breast cancer. #breastcancer #cancerawareness #community
