Notre équipe a sorti le grand jeu avec ses costumes, et un panel d'employés a eu la lourde tâche de sélectionner le meilleur. Yesterday, our Ontario team enjoyed an insightful and interactive day at the Climate Challenge Network’s Greening Health Care Annual Forum: Pathways to Decarbonization. Across North America, hospitals are finding ways to achieve deep energy and emissions reductions in their facilities. In the Decarbonizing Existing Hospitals panel, Matt Cannon, Senior Director, Infrastructure and Capital Development, spoke about Lakeridge Health's Oshawa Site Project LHEAD, and the approach to procuring and financing the deep energy and decarbonization retrofit project. “In the RFP we provided business partners our timeline and GHG reduction requirements of our Low Carbon Economy Challenge incentive – we let them work out how to get there, and held them accountable for achieving those goals. Our Yorkville decarbonization project is about to kick into high gear! Ecosystem have been busy since the cooling plant was shut down 10 days ago, pipework to the chiller, cooling tower and pumps has been disconnected and equipment is ready to be removed. Pipework is starting to be installed in preparation for the new heat pumps, and we've got a new domestic hot water tank to pre-heat the system when there's excess heat from the building loop. We already have a shiny new booster pump package in the basement as we work towards our 50% energy savings target. Lots of work to be done in the next 2 months, lots of GHG savings on the horizon!
