Meet Olivia, Dormie Workshop's Marketing Partnerships and Strategy Lead Background and Journey to Dormie: Olivia's career began in the entertainment industry, where she started working in the music business as a teenager. "I always said that I was selling CDs since I could count cash, which tells you how long ago that was," she laughs. With a rich background across brand partnerships, festivals, venues, record labels, and artist management, her experience is extensive and varied. After the pandemic, she returned to school at Emily Carr University for Communication Design and started shifting her focus to branding and strategy. This decision, paired with a desire to move closer to home, led her to join Dormie's marketing team. Life at Dormie: At Dormie, her day-to-day responsibilities are as diverse as her journey. Olivia partners with associations, individuals, and brands, all while working on strategy to ensure Dormie’s look and feel resonates with customers. She is also deeply involved in planning events and managing activations throughout the year. "It can change day to day based on what we have going on, and as we're growing, more and more opportunities come our way," she explains. On Women in Golf: Olivia is particularly excited about contributing to the growth of women in golf. However, she acknowledges the business challenges in ensuring that women golfers are prioritized and elevated. "Statistically, fewer women golf than men, so it can be challenging to make sure that we’re prioritized equally by courses, brands, media, etc. But there's so much potential here, and it's important to highlight and celebrate female golfers stories and experiences." Olivia sees a future where inclusivity is the norm. "I hope we get to a point where we don't need to advocate for inclusivity because it's the natural state of things," she says. Her vision is golf as a unified sport and canvas for creativity, where items are less gender-specific and more universally accessible and appreciated. Inspiration and Motivation: Olivia draws inspiration from many sources, but her mother, a formidable figure in the music industry, has been a significant influence. "She's a total boss—nothing stops her," Olivia says admiringly. “When I've asked her about being a woman in music, she says that she's never encountered any issues which I have a hard time believing but I think she’s just laser focused with her eyes on the prize. That's impressive and kind of motivating to not let anything get me down.” Advice to Aspiring Professionals: To young women looking to break into competitive fields, Olivia's advice is clear: "Go for it. Work hard, make connections, and surround yourself with like minded friends who inspire you. Attend networking events, introduce yourself, and don't be shy to put yourself out there. If you're shy, practice with people you're comfortable with and then expand your reach. This is what you want to do, so be willing to hustle hard to get there."

Lexi Thompson will retire from professional golf at the end of the 2024 season, calling time on a decorated career at the age of 29, the American announced on Tuesday. The 11-time LPGA Tour champion revealed her decision ahead of her 18th consecutive US Women’s Open appearance this week, 17 years since she burst onto the scene when – at just 12-years-old – she became the then-youngest player to ever qualify for the tournament. Having turned professional three years later in 2010, the Floridian clinched major glory at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship – now the Chevron Championship – and represented Team USA at six Solheim Cups, as well as two Olympic Games. “While it is never easy to say goodbye, it is indeed time,” Thompson wrote in a letter, accompanied by a video, on Instagram.
