About us
The Canadian Diabetes Association became Diabetes Canada on February 13, 2017, to shed the light on the diabetes epidemic Canada is facing. It's taking a monumental toll on our health. It's time to do more —much more. Diabetes Canada will be the driving force to build awareness of the disease and its implications, which are often misunderstood. Diabetes Canada will be the national voice for millions of Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes. End Diabetes is our rallying cry to end the terrible health impacts of diabetes as well as its shame, blame, stigma and misinformation. It's also time to End Diabetes altogether with a cure. #EndDiabetes We are supported in our efforts by a community-based network of volunteers, members, employees, health-care professionals, researchers and partners.

Diabetes Canada reposted this
The start of November marks the start of #DiabetesAwarenessMonth This year my 11 year old daughter, Jessica, is running 366km throughout the year to raise money and #spillthediabetea for Diabetes Canada in support of a good friend who was recently diagnosed as type 1 diabetic. She is hosting a special run on World Diabetes Day, November 14 and is encouraging people to take the time that day to get out and move their bodies, drop some $$ into her fundraiser and take a moment to think about the 4 million people in Canada living with Diabetes and the new people that are diagnosed with diabetes every 3 minutes right here in Canada. #showyourglow #LaceUpForDiabetes #TogetherWeCan McElhanney https://lnkd.in/gHM2EtM7
